I was offered a buyback or replacement on my Camaro and was told it would be for comparable MSRP not purchase price. I ended up keeping my car as I could not find a comparable vehicle.
My story...bought a new, leftover 50th Anniversary 2LT/RS. Dealer sold it with the open EPS recall. Brought the car back after owning it for a week. Opened a case with GM Customer Service and they offered the buyback or replacement since there wasn't any date when the fix will be implemented. I waited 14 weeks to get my car back but happy I did as I was also given a voucher to purchase accessories. I did get a courtesy loaner Camaro while my car was at the dealership waiting for the fix. |

That’s the experience with the dealer where I bought it. They said they will refix that. But I said no. I’m not giving u any chance to touch the car again. I ended up to go to a dealer that 1 hour away from me. Lethal camaro recommend. I dropped the car. Next day I got a phone call from dealer says hey we can’t repair your vehicle because GM has paid first dealer to do it. You have to sent back to that dealer. My answer is no way. First that’s the manufacturer problem. I took to a certified dealer to do. They fked up And I have to go back and forth wasting my time. Then I called GM custom service report all these filled a claim. Then the first dealer and second dealer made some agreements to let my car stay at the second one to do the repair. Another 2 weeks. I have to pick up the car because they said the interior trim is out of stock. U probably need to wait 2 weeks at least. Then I drove my car back without the interior trim on passenger side ( I can see the wire and airbag lol). As today my car still no trim but the good news is I got a call from GM to replace my vehicle! |

That seems like a question better asked of GM, but surely its offer is to refund what you actually paid or replace your car with a comparable car (without regard to what you actually paid).

BTW, as far as a replacement, GM Customer Engagement Center said I could order a replacement car. I was pursuing that route but the Sales Mgr at the dealership that where I purchased my car was slow-rolling the process and being a pain in the you-know-what.
I'm guessing the dealership didn't want to get stuck with a used car on top of losing a Camaro allocation. |

I’ll bet they’re going to deduct a percentage for miles that you’ve already used… At least that’s the way it is and some trade assists I know of…

I am not sure if it will help, I lemon lawed a Brand new 2015 Z06 after 7 months of owning it. There was a luandry list of issues and 2 motor rebuilds later. GM would not have anything to do with me. So I had to do it through court. Lemon Law is probably something alittle different than an offrered buy back program though. I did not get MSRP on the car but it was close, GM waived mileage on the car, and paid my legal fess as well.
I bought a Viper afterward. I added a ZL1/1LE to the garage about a year ago. Its been amazing. |
