Gen6mike goes 8.87@155/5.70@123 Maggie 2300r

So today Mike was at a track rental in Cali and ran a best of 8.87@155, that's really wicked for a little 2300r Magnuson Heartbeat. Camaro weighs in about 3980 so not a light weight at all. I'm sure Mike will post his times slips later. His best pass before that was at the LS Fest and he went 9.06@152 in not so good conditions for sure. Probably the fastest pass of any 2300 that I know of.

That’s damn impressive! Even more so being full weight. What are the highlights of his setup?

I don't have all the motor details but it does have a full cage certified to 8.50, cam, lt4 heads, 2300r Heartbeat, Rankin A8 with circle D converter. Dss axles and driveshaft. He is launching in 2nd gear.

Greg, can you educate me on the differences between a 2300 & 2300R? I didn't see anything about the r on Magnuson's website.

He still has cooler weather coming to potentially run even faster.

Don't quote me but I believe the snout is ported along with some other areas inside the blower.

The R denotes the style of the rotor pack. It is the latest 5th generation design from Eaton that has more twist in the rotors vs the previous series. It moves more air, is more efficient, and trades a little bottom end to extend the power band up top.

That's not correct on the rotors.
