Front of hood out of alignment
I'm not sure when it happened but the front of my hood is very sunk in compared to the front bumper, but it is aligned on the quarter panels. I think it happened when the body shop replaced one of my quarter panels that someone backed into. Some of the clips are broken on the front bumper.
I was wondering if it's the hood latch that has sunken down or something? I have to push it really hard and deep to get it to latch. I tried adjusting the hood alignment knobs but it is off a lot more than the knobs adjust. It looks worse than it does in this picture but you can kind of see it |

I had this happen when dealer need to do a recall a couple years ago. The issue turned out to be the latch assembly was reassembled too low. Just need to unscrew one bolt I think and move it up until it lines up correctly.

Go thru the front grille and raise the latch a little bit.

The hood is the right height, the front bumper cover is too high. Under the hood, there is a black steel panel that covers the hood latch. It's held on by 4 10mm bolts (I think) and there are two torx screws that allow some height adjustment. Loosen the torx screws and tighten down the 10mm bolts if not already tight. Then tighten the torx screws until the bumper cover sits at the same height as the hood.

Jokes aside, just as others have said already, adjust the hood latch assy a bit higher and you'll be all set. Mine was a little too low from the factory as well, not as bad as yours, but bad enough for the hood not to close unless I pushed down on it after the first click. Lame.

My new 2016 SS was like that after the dealership installed the optional black bow ties on the car. After I had a major front end accident the body shop replaced the front fascia/bumper, hood and front fender adjusted the hood gap right.

I fixed the screws holding the front fender in place but it is still the same. Must be the latch

If you raise the latch, you'll increase the fender to hood gap. Look at my post from earlier. The two torx screws on either side of the latch adjust the front bumper height. The set the angle of the black steel plate under the hood.
Loosen those torx screws until the bumper sits at the right height. Easy fix, 30 seconds max. |

Try this: Loosen all 4 of the 10mm and the two torx screws. Re-tighten the 10mm screws first. Then tighten the torx screws until the bumper sits at the right height to match the hood. The torx screws set the angle of the black plate. If the torx screws are too tight, they push the front of the black plate up which brings the bumper too high.

What Andy said should fix your issue. The 2 Torx bolts set the bumper height in relation to the hood. They have lock tite on them from the factory, so they can be hard to turn.
Here's another thread discussing the same thing. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/top...ink_source=app Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

I don't understand why you just don't got back the body shop and have them fix it?
