PDR wont turn on - 19 ZL1
Having issues with my PDR. First, will the PDR turn on without an SD card in it? I've got a new 64gig micro sd / sd card formatted to FAT32 and it wont turn on with that installed either. Also tried a smaller 512mb card and still get a blank black screen.
Anyone seeing this issue. This infotainment system has been pretty glitchy overall with the radio controls disappearing, locked screens and radio volume not being able to be adjusted. I'm wondering if this is just an update issue. Thanks in advance

Pull the fuse and put it back in and see if it works. If that doesn't fix it I'd take it to the dealer.

There's a dedicated PDR fuse?

Technically you are correct, but many of the Corvette and Camaro guys have been using up to 64GB so long as they were formatted in FAT32. I even tried it with a 512MB card as well and it didn't work. In hindsight, I'm seeing that this card is a V30 as opposed to a C10 which is capable of a bit faster speeds. That could be an issue. So the most important question now is, will the PDR come on without a card installed? Mine is black with or without. If it should come on, then I have other issues outside of the card. I'm also running a micro SD with an SD adapter below as that is the way most come now. I wouldn't think that would matter but just throwing it out there in case someone has seen an issue with that.

Mine will come on without a card installed. Had the same black screen issue, unhooked neg battery terminal for 20 minutes and then it would turn on with no issues and no card inserted.

The 32GB card limit is incorrect. I have a 256GB card installed in mine, without any issues. Where I think some folks are getting confused is the FAT32 and the 32GB SD card. These are not the same. You absolutely have to have the card formatted to FAT32, otherwise the PDR cant read it. But the limit on the SD card itself....there is none.

The manual states a max size of 32GB, but that because most factory formatted FAT32 cards max at that size. If you use an appropriate program, you can format larger cards to FAT32 but almost none come like this off the shelf. In fact, the one place I saw that offered FAT32 cards larger than 32GB were selling cards that they themselves reformatted and upcharged for the service. Just an FYI.
To the OP, I would try to the battery reset, if this does not fix it, take it to the dealership. |

Unplugged it for an hour and still get a black screen. I was hoping I could avoid another excruciating trip to the dealer......

I have a blackvue dashcam that uses FAT32, so I use their software to format the SD card.

Hope they can fix it quick and get you back to having fun. Once your PDR works, it’s fun to use
