Smile Joining the ZL1 Vert M6 club...

Camaro6 Folks:

I want to thank everyone here for all of their posts and support (or criticism) for the Cam 6, and I am stoked to humbly add my name to the list of ZL1 vert M6 drivers. It's all your fault - well, with some blame to YouTube ZL1 videos from Motor Trend!

I went deep - I live in San Jose, CA, but only saw my target 2017 ZL1 verts M6 in acceptable (light) colors in NJ and FL. It turns out that a really cool cat in NJ, my new friend Jordan, had a White 2017 with 3,000 miles (only!). The only solution - buy it remotely from CA, fly to NJ, and drive 3,800 miles back to CA (where it belongs) across the great middle USA.

It's been almost 1 month now, and I'm finally diving into the Camaro6 forum. I have a good number of questions, comments, and I'm about to drop some funds on a stereo upgrade. I look forward to chatting and sharing with you all!

Of course, "This post is worthless without pics", so pics!

Man after a drive like that you an probably tell us things about the car. What did you think about the drive? Would you do it again if you had to?

Thumbs up

Thx Sengli, 1hprush, 6spdhyperblue, and Scottyz!

These are the stops I made on the trip which dictated the route, related to family/friends, airplanes, and guitars:

* Pickup in NJ.
* Stay overnight with my brother/sister-in-law in Katonah, NY.
* Stay overnight with my nephew/niece-in-law in Brooklyn, NY, with family dinner in NYC.
* Stay overnight with my sister/brother-in-law in Fairfax, VA, and visit my Mom/Dad.
* Stop in Portage/Kalamazoo, MI at the Air Zoo Museum.
* Stop in Chicago, IL at Chicago Music Exchange.
* Stop in Altoona, IA at the Facebook Data Center to visit my teammates and get a tour (I'm a IT Manager assigned to the Facebook account from my IT company).
* Stop in Denver, CO area for Wings Over The Rockies Air Museum and Wildwood Guitars.
* Stop in LA to visit friends.
* Return to San Jose, CA.

A few more pics of the trip.

Thx Revalot!

BTW, the AMG BAHN black Cali license plate came from my previous 2012 AMG C63 Coupe - it’s only temporary.

The new black Cali plate should come any day now - CAM ZL1!

Awesome sounding trip! I bought a used black A10 vert a couple of months ago and love it. It's a toy car and will never see a day at the track but man is it fun to mash the gas. On my third Camaro and I can say I'm (we're all!) blessed to be able to enjoy these.

Thanks jeffinstl, and I'm the same way, no track, no drag strip, just a lot of stop light and highway ramp flings!

BTW, I just added a post on the stereo upgrade that is planned for mid-week. There's a full parts list there with prices. Wish me luck!

I'll do a future post about the drive and the car 6spdhyperblue and Scottyz. As I would drive, if something came to me, I would speak a new Notes into my iPhone. I had a good number of likes and some dislikes about the ZL1.

I did a US drive once before with a 2008 BMW M3 vert 6-speed from Portland, OR, that was about 10,000 miles. This was a loop doing the South on the way to the East Coast, and the North on the way back to Portland. You learn a lot about a car on a trip like that!

1. Great choice in car color.

2. Great choice in convertible over coupe

3. Great choice in year. Regarding audio, much easier to install a nice system in 17/18 vs 19 model vehicles

4. Regarding audio.... I will comment over in your audio thread.

Welcome to the club
