New ZL1 Owner

Good morning everyone. So last week I did something I thought I’d never do. I traded in my white 2017 SS 1LE with 7,500 miles on it for a red 2020 ZL1. In many ways, the 1LE was the perfect track day and daily with weather permitting. It was my first brand new car and had a ton of sentimental value. With that said, the ZL1 is a complete monster of a car and I absolutely love it. But if I can be completely honest, I miss that SS 1LE. I think the ZL1 and it’s 1LE variant get so much hype that many of us forget how special the SS 1LE is.

Hope everyone gets to relax and stays safe on this Labor Day Holiday. Cheers!

Love the red Kwadwo!

I miss my 17 (2SS not 1LE), as well... I got so used to that power in the 6 gen chassis I’ve never felt so comfortable behind the wheel while pounding it.

Moving to the ZL1 has thrown me off due to the increase in hp and torque, but god she’s a beast. Can’t wait to get thru the break in period and really get to know her!

Congratulations and welcome to the ZL1 club here on Camaro 6 forum! With some more driving miles you will forget the SS 1LE that you had! Think of the ZL1 as a SS 1LE on steroids and enjoy your new hotrod!

Very nice! I did the same thing about 3 weeks ago with my mint condition, low mileage 2010 SS/RS. I too get sentimental with cars, and I spent a few days in a funk- thinking I may have screwed up.

What really sent me on the path to a ZL1 was that I was torn between modding my SS and keeping it original. When I decided to mod it, it was nearly impossible for me to find a shop that was both skilled enough and reasonable enough to do the work. I just got fed up with it and woke up one morning and decided to go for the gold.

My personal saying is that you'll never miss something if you replace it with something better. While my SS was a superb all-around car, it was no ZL1. The ZL1 is a world class sports car, IMO. Nothing I've ever driven is even in the same league.

That's such a beautiful color. I'm usually not a red car kinda guy, but the that shade really does well on the ZL1.

Nice job!

I'm in love with the ZL1. Congratulations and I'm going to emulate you by driving my 2SS for a couple of years and risking divorce by upgrading!
