If you are this worried about the payment, you can't afford it. Be patient and wait for a better time. It's all right if you cannot have an SS at this time. It won't matter in the long run. The money you save now (and hopefully invest), will.

It's really simple to figure out.

Go to the Kbb instant cash offer site. Put your car in, and be honest and critical about it's condition, tires, dings, scratches etc. This will give you a fair idea of the trade offer. Get your 10 day payoff from your lender. Then get your credit score. Know that the score sites like Credit Karma are sponsored by banks, so take a few points off that score, but it will give you an idea.

Plan on needing at least 10% of selling price of the car down in cash. You may not need that much, but plan on it. There is only so much negative equity banks will roll into a used car, depending on it's ACV.
