What I paid for mine was about the same as a new 2SS 1LE that I was looking to get and found the Z and thought this a no brainer to get it instead of the SS! I used to think like you do about the over 50 folks but have changed my mind since I am in the senior citizens group now. Most of us over 50 have worked over 40 years and still working should have nice cars in our later years to enjoy driving as long as we can afford them!
I am too chicken to buy a used vehicle, especially one with a manual. I know how bad I could be on my clutch. I'm not, but I could be. So "what one man can do, another man can do": Charles Morse, The Edge.

Love the snapshot and I see you have the A10. How old is your daughter?

Yeah unavailable I feel the same way but mine had only 422 miles and 2 years old so I figured it was be good to go! And also had some of the 36 mo 36,000 mile warranty left on it.

Only thing is, she's a major Shelby GT350 and 500 fan!

I kid her about bursting into flames while in a Camaro
We posted a vid shot by her against a GT350 on BCSpeedFest FaceBook. Good vid of the A10 at work. Can't figure out how to post a vid here...

There were a lot of great cars there. Like this pic in mirror of McLaren.

Doesn't even have her permit yet but asked if she could drive next year...

Wow, that is low miles. That would be something I would get

Damn that is a good shot of that color of Red. I am jealous. That is the color I wanted, but no one had them.

I think the ZL1 is just more immature (in the best possible way), so it's for the young at heart. I hope I'm cool enough to still drive something like this into my 70's.
I ordered and purchased mine at 28. I too was initially looking at corvettes and the salesman said, "you should check out this zl1 over here". After that I was pretty much sold on getting a zl1, but no way was i purchasing the red one on the lot (huge Florida Gators fan). My GTO made me power hungry so the 455hp in the vette was just too close to my GTO to justify not going for the zl1.

I just turned 60 this summer. I've owned at least one Camaro since I was 19 years old! I still have the first one I bought new, a '79 Z-28. My daily driver is a '17 ZL-1, and I love it! Now saving up for the next one!

I'll be 50 in Nov...unlike a lot of you this is my first real sports car. Always followed them & still want a 69 for the lines & year I was born. Almost had dad talked into a grey grand national back in HS but probably saved my life. He did end up a SHO a little down the road & that was a fun car. Think we went through 1/2 dozen clutches??

Guess I would have had several over the past 30 years but all my fun $$$ went/goes into fishing, hunting & shooting...come to the conclusion I will have to give up the deer lease I've been on for 15 years if I were to start tracking.

That's cool. My first new car was also a 79 Z28.

40 here drive it like you stole it. Corvette looks cool but IMO the Camaro is better..plus Corvette is an old dues cars for sure. Think young stay young. Your as old as you feel. I feel 30 doing spartan beasts playing hockey and beating young dudes all day. Age is only a number. Doing it for Dale... send it
