I have a set of Eibach springs on my car, they give the car a good stance. Nothing changed as far as re bounce rate, just the cars ride height.

If you change ride height with springs, you may change how the dampers work/move and you may eventually wear them out.

The DSSVs are some very advanced dampers, with valving designed/matched very carefully for these springs. If you start messing with it, I expect you will lose some of the amazing grip the 1LE has on the road course. I'm not touching it.

I didn't get the part number from Eibach it was a come in so we can do some R&D and we will give you the springs. it does seem to be a little more bouncy with the eibachs. a taller tire does soften the ride though.

I am thinking it will help soften the ride just a little more. Yes, I understand the ZLE is Track first / Street second however these cars need to also work on the street for it to make sense.
No it doesn’t have to work on the street for it to make sense. It’s a track biased car. The ZL1 is street biased. You bought the wrong car! The biggest difference between the ZL1 and 1LE is the damper you want to get rid of. Doesn’t make sense.

Damper valves and springs cannot be changed independent of one another. Change the spring rate and you have to change the valving.

...and sway bar rates typically change, too, with spring rate changes.

How did you confirm nothing changed as far as "bounce rate"? First, do you mean bump (compression) or rebound?

I guarantee you things changed, but you wont notice unless you're on a track at high speed in a tough turn trying to hold maximum grip over an uneven surface, and then the grip you had before you changed the DSSV springs to achieve the stance you want is suddenly not there anymore.

To know if it works you or someone before you needs to put the new combo through on-track testing, or have a suspension shop test it on a shock dyno.

I was told by eibach that the only thing that would change was the ride height. They actually tested the car after the swap. If you guys want the info then you would have to contact eibach. I did it because the parts were free but I will be changing the front springs back to stock due to the sheriffs saying the car is too low lol 😂

For everyone here that wants a solution I recommend going and talking to an IMSA team that is running the GT4R ZL1 race car in the Michelin Pilot challenge. That car has “adjustable” dampers on it. If you can work something out and purchase a set of those for your 1LE you could run them full soft for street use and have a more comfortable ride. But at track days you could actually go in and adjust high/low speed compression and rebound to get the car to handle properly to your driving characteristics with brake trail in ect ect. I know this is definitely not the cheapest option but it would be the best option possible.

At that point you're just replacing them and there are very nice OTS offerings like MCS you could get. Not cheap but they are solid:

I have MCS 2 ways on my E92 M3. In the link/video please observe how the Camaro is planted.
I have to say, the Stock suspension in the 1LE is amazing! car looked compliant in front of me. That suspension shouldn't be toyed with the idea of "lowering springs"
You want to take it up a notch? MCS, PENSKE etc.

My question is how much if any better are the MCS 2 way non remote dampers compared to the DSSV's? Cause $3200 is pretty easy to justify considering MCS can rebuild them and from everything I am gathering, the DSSV's are a disposable part.
