I bought my SS with the express intent of the commute. I drive 270 miles round trip, 5 days a week and knew that if I was going to have to be behind the wheel for 2+ hours every morning and evening then I better like what I'm driving.

Gosh guys. I thought I had it rough. I have 15 hours of flights, then 5 hours in a car, then an hour helicopter flight. I could not imagine 75 minutes in a Civic each day. My heart goes out to you.

I guess my plan is to buy the car to drive and thoroughly enjoy through and through. I weighed out the costs of fuel, tires etc. before purchasing the car and understood what the costs would be. I have a 2007 Nissan Maxima that has about 135k on the clock but ever since buying the camaro it's sat idle. Once the Camaro reaches 135K miles.. there might be a Z06 in my driveway.

I drove my '19 turbo to work today, about 8 miles one way. I pretty much drive it unless there is snow on the ground. The turbo is a great daily driver and sips gas if you are light on the throttle. 35mpg is easy to attain.

I daily drive my SS 6sp in the DC area because I bought the car specifically for driving and enjoying, not pretending it will be in a museum some day. Keep it clean and as nice as possible, but I let it run!

I do 80 miles a day. My Saturn is my winter ride and I drive the Camaro every day in the Spring/Summer/Fall which in Michigan is only May thru October.

I couldn’t imagine driving my SS an 1hr 15 min each way everyday as the gas bill would suck.

60$+ x 2 - $120 a week x 4 = $480 a month used cruze was $240 a month plus $120 for gas = $360 so even with two cars im still saving money lol

My commute is only about 12 miles. I have an 05 Subaru Legacy GT 5MT with full bolt ons that was my fun car for a while until I got my 2SS.
I'll drive the Camaro on nice days, but if there's a chance for rain, the Subaru comes out. I also put my Camaro away in the winter to keep the salt off of it. Side note: AWD Boosted Subaru with 850cc injectors and a 65c fuel pump gets about 17mpg on the highway. I get about 28 in the Camaro if I can keep my foot out of it (rare). Both on 93. I mean - I would still do the same thing because it's a wash and the SS will be worth more over time without racking up all those miles - so you do save money eventually that way for sure. |

I do home health Occupational Therapy and I'm absolutely going to drive my Camaro after picking it up on Friday. The amount I get paid for mileage more than covers gas and added maintenance. I wouldn't get mileage with a company car and still have to come out of pocket for fuel.

eh my dd is a lifted xj. fuel mileage concerns me not. i’d drive the car way more but once it sits out overnight it needs washed again. plus i’d be parking it at a truck terminal so dust and dirt is always flying 24/7.
