AFM clarification

So I need your guys' help. I'm looking at getting the Borla s type axle back with the x pipe to make it a full cat back and keep NPP feature/function. I've gotten conflicting info on which x pipe to get from different vendors. Being my car is a manual, do I need to get the x pipe with the afm valves? The one without is about 500 cheaper. I dont mind purchasing the 1 with the valves if its needed. I've been told with manual its needed but they aren't active. Then I've been told it's only on the automatics. So which is true? Looking to purchase real soon so wanted to have this figured out. Thanks in advance for your guys' input

Only the automatic cars have AFM (except the ZL1)
