New here, I picked up a '19 ZL1 1LE

Just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I recently picked up a '19 ZR1 1LE as a track car. I welcome any input/thoughts as I'm coming from a highly modified M4 track car that was tough sorting out.

I'd like to know if the stock brakes are track worthy (high speed tracks such as Autoclub Roval) and if not what would others suggest?

Any other "pointers" will be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

Welcome! You will get some mixed feelings about the brakes. Think it will depend on driving style, track, and pace. You might hit up some of the quick pace guys out your way like seanblurr on here.

Actually I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the ZL1 1LE if you take it to the track as is after just doing the track prep. There are a lot of guys out there who track these things hard though. Might want to check out a youtube channel called Turn in Track Out (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0P...XFb3TPAz_nf3wA), as that guy tracks a ZL1 1LE pretty hard and getting good times.

As long as the stock brake components and fluid are in good shape, you should be good to go. The stock brakes received praise from Randy Pobst and I don't think any of us will be as hard on them as he was. He said "Very very pleasing and satisfying how late I could brake, in what is a relatively heavy car!" and "Tremendous amount of braking grip was available."

Thanks everyone for the comments.
I promise that car will get more track miles than street miles. I plan on getting it corner balanced first and then going with an E85 tune.
