V6 1LE resale/trade in and model trim low values
So I bought a lightly used 2017 1LE V6 for $27K about a year ago in California, it has the suede recaro seats, touch screen infotainment, but regular gauge cluster with small digital screen. The VIN shows it as an LS model. I've been getting trade in offers for as low as $15k now with 28k miles.
I'm a bit confused though because I see other v6 1le without recaros, just regular leather seats, retailing for $32k and they're listed as 2LT trims or even a 3LT for the latest generation.... I guess what I'm confused about is why my car is an LS, shouldn't it be an LT? My trade in value seems lower than it should be based on other 1LE LT models I'm seeing online. Anyone else have any issues with trade in values for 1le models? |

I haven't looked at values, but they did make a LS model 1LE. Mine is a 2LT 1LE, but I have no idea what the differences would be, if any. I imagine the dealer trade-in is the base model without any options or 1LE package and then minus some as well. I think you'd have to sell it private party to someone honestly, there's just no real incentive for the dealer to want that extra stuff or offer you more.

Yeah true. Still debating on trying to sell the car for a c5 z06 or not...if I could fetch more money for the car I would but given the very small market of people looking for a used v6 1le I'm probably just going to end up keeping it and modding it for another two years at least, just waiting for a floor in depreciation.

I have a 2018 v6 1LE with the LS trim. Yea the LS vs LT is confusing. It's a crap shoot of options and trim levels and tying certain ones together.
I wanted the Tech package with the 8" infotainment screen and Bose speakers. Couldn't get that on the SS 1LT! crazy. One of the reasons I went with my car because I could get a base trim with 8" + Bose audio. No idea about resale. I'm likely keeping mine for another 3 years (5 years total). I love this car and really enjoy it.

When the Gen6 first arrived the base trim was the 1LT. Then in 2017 as an attempt to spur sales along with price decreases across the board, the 1LT models with manual transmission were designated as LS models. If the cars had the 2LT equipment they remained LT models even if equipped with manual transmission. Sadly due to their entry level status the books aren’t currently kind to the 2017/18 LS used car values, even when well equipped with the 1LE package and suede Recaro sport seats. Not fair I completely agree, but to make more sense for 2019 the LS models can now be had for $500 less than an LT with either an automatic or stick, but they lose the satellite radio and passenger side power seat and also can’t get the RS or the 1LE packages, as the 4 and 6 cylinder cars with the sport packages are now designated as LT models. With the A8 now available on the LS trim it brings the LT and LS closer together and used car values shouldn’t suffer as much on the LS down the road. The I4 Turbo LS is truly one of the best entry level performance bargains out there, given it's starting price point with incentives...
