MSD 2700 intake manifold

Hey everyone. I am really on the fence right now. So i saw the MSD intake for what i believed was a good price ( i paid $870 for a new one). I installed it last night and took the car out for a ride. I think i felt the loss of mid range torque people where talking about but im not sure if i felt a real gain up top. Im kind of having buyers remorse with this product an am very much thinking about returning it. the only mods to the car before the MSD where a Rotofab wet CAI and MBRP quad tip axlebacks. I know a tune would be the next step for me to try to get more out of this intake but is it even worth it ? I guess i was just expecting more of a positive feeling after installing this mod. Anyone have any experience with these on a stock setup like myself ? Advise would be much appreciated.

Butt dynos are very inaccurate but yes a tune would help out. If you E85 near you I would install a flex fuel kit and tune for E85.

if you're going to keep it get it ported. Imo isn't worth it unless your going heads/cam or forced induction.

Better question is where did you get a new one for $870? I need one and that is a hell of a price.

Try disconnecting battery, for ECM reset.
This may help

i got it on amazon actually lol. it went down to $810 2 days after i bought it , i was annoyed and they dont price adjust lol. currently it is $922 on amazon if anyone is interested. Does anyone know if before tuning i should pickup a 103mm TB ? is it worth it ? i only had the car out once for a few mins maybe im only disappointed because i had unrealistic expectations. Unfortunately i dont have E85 near me. Im in staten island NY, does anyone know of any good performance shops in my neck of the woods?

I am sure there are some closer but Race Proven Motors is up that way. I bought a car from a guy in New Jersey that they had worked on.

I would just buy an LT5 throttle body or buy one from that Soler company that just came out, 103 is way too big for you.

Been running a 103 for years now... Not saying there is any gain vs a 95mm (not available when I got the 103), or fully ported Pray TB. Just saying there is really no "too big" at least not IMO.

Yeah I didn't mean it as too big to cause issues just too big to really gain anything at stock levels and just not worth the extra money at this point. I also heard people were having tuning issues with the 103? Not sure on it but thought I remembered it from somewhere.

No tuning issues from the 103, just the 95 is far more bang for the $$$$, as we already know there is no bang at all going from 95 to 103mm. The 103mm does "look" bad action... just saying.

I also read somewhere that you where supposed to remove the old foam pad underneath the stock intake or else the new one wont fit right. I didn't do this and it fit just fine. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

It fits. I had more of an issue reusing the port gaskets and not using new ones
