I daily drive a 1LE and I enjoy it. I am similar to someone above, every time I enter the car it is set to track and sport 2. I am on my 3rd set of Good years on the rear at around 17k miles. I like to have fun. Since a lot of people don't like them I pick up slightly used ones off other 1LEs and vettes to replace. I live in Texas and they perform well other than life. When you put the comp setting to "wet" the car does a great job at keeping it going straight and correcting any over throttle or loss of traction. I drove just yesterday is high water situation and I felt in control the whole time.
I do not have any issues with the seats in the car. My previous car also had recaros and they were much tighter on me. I still didn't mind them then either but I will agree for road trips they will suck, mainly due to the lack of lumbar support. I love the suede interior bits but they will wear fast with daily driving. I feel like I'm washing my hands everytime before I get in my car to avoid ruining it. If you wear rings or watches you can scuff it up if you drag it across these bits. I purchased an Adams detailing brush to help keep it clean. The other issue I had was with the hood. The matte stains easily. I ended up swapping it out for a satin wrap which is holding up a lot better and matches the other exterior bits better. Despite these things there is nothing else I'd buy in the price range. It does everything I want and is exactly what I was looking for in a car. |

for tires put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4s or Pilot Super Sports. I have pilot super sports and the are great in the rain and at 10000 miles still have 80% tread on them.

Hmm. I have the Recaro seats on my car. I daily drove my car last summer, and for weeks at a time this year, swapping with my Lexus LS. I think the Recaro seats are very comfortable and I am 6'5 tall. I specifically went with a 2SS with that option. I am very glad I got them.

I use to DD this car into Manhattan everyday. No issues. Cruised in on the morning and then in the afternoon I would hit traffic. Bumper to bumper. I loved every minute of it. I had a lot of stick cars and this one was the easiest to drive in traffic.
MPG? I can't tell the difference between a regular SS and this but I averaged 17-20mpg a week. My lowest recorded was 15.9 and I'm pretty sure I got on it a couple of morning's. This is all with A/C on as well, using fuelly to calculate and not the in dash average. The 1LE bits might be felt in corners, MAG ride did help with the roads also but for sure the tires/wheels are the biggest difference for me. Those things are vacuums on the road. I changed them to an A/S tire and noticed the grip I lost.

Honestly if your not going to track the car that $7,000 can be better spent.
Personally if I'm not taking it to the track I'll take that $7k and put it into the motor. Then just wrap the hood and call it a day. $7,000 you are getting close to forced induction range and. And trust me. The supercharger will put a much bigger smile on your face then the 1LE. But if you track the car the 1LE is the way to go. Gives you alot of tools for the track for a great price if you can use those tools. |

i've owned both an SS and an SS 1le. both in 2ss trim. to be honest, as someone that is only occasionally on the track, the SS makes the better daily. the alcantara isn't great for daily use, the tires and tire widths suck for rock chips, the black hood i immediately removed because its a pain (imo) to take care of. the seats are good, but daily there was nothing wrong at all with the seats in my ss. so, i'd save the money if its rarely on track. miss my old car. love my 1le as well, but yea ...
