I usually try to keep my cars 8 to 10 years. This one will probably be the last car I buy for myself. Ordered just what I wanted, got it when I was 71. We're looking for a new SUV for my wife to replace her 2008 Envoy.

It’s great to see all of you have similar mindsets to me when it comes to this car. I’m 22, so keeping this car for the long run is going to be a lot of work. Whatever cars I may own in the future, this one will always be special. Maybe only electric cars will be on the market by the time I have a family. I’ll have the Camaro on a revolving platform in the center of my house haha

Must not have the credit.. why waste all that money on a liability? If you had excellent credit you could simply finance with a little to zero interest rate. Then invest money into real estate or some other ASSET.

Some people, like myself, find it more important to truly own something, even if it means it is less financially sensible in the long run. I myself have excellent credit and was offered 2% interest rate on my car, but I chose to pay cash for it. Even that 2% would accumulate over time to where I’m literally paying money, for money. For people that want to keep the car for a long time, it just makes more sense to buy it cash if you can.

I appreciate folks wanting to keep the car. My first Camaro was a '70 SS, and yes i wish i still had it. But that said, MY reply is it will depend on what Chevy does with the Camaro. If they (significantly) improve the performance on another year, or gen, then i will probably upgrade.

I had been thinking of getting a Camaro again right after the new 5 gens came out. But never pulled the trigger. And i still love the gen 5 looks. But, for me, given this is not a DD, it's a toy, why not get the next best generation. At least that is my view. But make no mistake, love the car - it is beyond FUN to drive!

For me it depends. I really love my 2SS but truthfully honest I am very worried about what will happen to it after its warranty period expires. Its an awesome performing car but GM seems to have developed the secret formula for great performance while neglecting everything else necessary to keep it functional to drive everyday.

If a 7th gen appears to be more alluring Im going to sit on the side line for awhile and WATCH, and buy one if it seems to be fairly stable (ie no torque shudder or power steering randomly shutting down while you're driving, both of which happened to me by this point.)

I’m like the older guys here, turning 59 soon and this is my 4th Camaro that I’ve owned. It’s modded to what I want and its paid for, I’m going to enjoy it and when I get the itch for something else it’ll have a partner in the garage. Getting rid of it will be my family’s problem

I intend to. First time I ever bought brand new, besides a lease. Hopefully nothing bad happens to her to discourage me from keeping her.

plan to keep mine at least until 7th gen, then decide whether I want to go all electric. I'll only do it if I can get at least 300 miles on a charge.

While there are exceptions, I think some of us are buying out of our reach and financing all kinds of things—like a $1000 phones and $400 watches etc, for ex. . Sorry if I got off topic.
