Magnaflow axle back install - SS Convertible
Just installed the Magnaflow axle back on my 2016 SS Convertible 6MT.
The OEM muffler is a joke on these cars - 1967 called and wanted their muffler back!!  Magnaflow 19339 | Chevrolet Camaro | 6.2L | Axle Back | Competition Series ( Mid Range Sound ) | Stainless Performance Exhaust System | Dual Exit Tips Fit and finish and quality are top notch. And I've always been a big fan of Magnaflow mufflers too - great sound without rasp or drone and very mellow under normal cruise. I have the same basic mufflers on a 520hp 406 in my 71 Camaro and love the sound. Quick drive confirmed it was just what I was looking for - you can actually hear the engine now! Sounds very similar to the Dinan system I had on my E39 M5. Nice deep tone - no rasp, not obnoxious at all - even under full throttle isn't all that much louder than stock.

Little bit of drone under compression braking around 2K.
Need to do a highway run to test. I’ll try to get a video tomorrow. |

I’ll try to post a few videos I just shot. I assume need to put them on utube or something ?
It’s perfect to me. There is some drone at 1700 in 6th on highway but it’s not annoying at all. And with the top down you can barely even make out there is an engine sound if you concentrate a lot on trying to hear it. I drive with top down 90pct of the time. This isn’t my only car. Even toad trips top is usually down unless it’s a really long stretch and it’s really hot and sun beating down. Normal driving with top down is perfect. Now you can finally hear the motor. And not all that loudly either. But great tone and not much different from stock under full throttle which is nice. Normal driving around with top up you can hear the exhaust a lot more. Basically a non factor for me tho. |
