Diff oil change
I am trying to change Diff oil once it come close to 1500 miles and is this only for the manual trans? ACDelco 10-4034 Dexron LS 75W-90 Gear Oil
I was just about to purchase, and most of the descriptions were showing manual only. Mine is A10. Thanks! |

The diffs are the same, without splitting hairs, so that fluid works for the rear diff of either A10/M6.
That's what I run in my A10 ZL1 for many trouble free miles. If you don't have one already, you'll want a fluid pump as the fill for the diff is on top and you'll need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Plews-55001-L.../dp/B000BQW5LK Also, the rear diff already has a magnetic drain plug, but the engine oil pan does not. Look into a Dimple one: https://www.drainplugmagnets.com/gmchevybuick.php M12x1.75x21 |

Does the diff need any additives?

The correct OEM stuff, part number in the original post, has the additives necessary already in it. This is why it is imperative to use the OEM fluid and not some aftermarket stuff. Some people have tried to use aftermarket gear oil and get their own additive but why mess with something that works? Get the OEM stuff and sleep better at night. |

Just did my rear diff oil change for the second time now. I just tightened the drain and fill bolts a reasonable amount. Don't go crazy, but make sure its tight.

I just did mine too right at 1500 miles as well. I was thinking I'm wasting my time but it for sure needed it. Also did my 3rd oil change too.

Ironically, I was looking at picking up some of this oil for the differential today. That said, does anyone know where the best place and price to get it from? Thanks
