Concerns

Hello All,
Finally got the car to the dyno today, and not sure what to make of it. After 3 pulls the car put down and average of 503hp and 520ft/lb. Only mods are a cut factory air box, katech TB, and secondary cat delete.

Not sure what the problem might be, but willing to accept suggestions. AFR looked good throughout, and the car has excellent road manners. Will probably set the car back to stock (except for exhaust), and head back to the dyno next week.

I would say that dyno is a tad off! A stock un touched Z will put down 550ish at the wheels. I would think with mods you have it would put at least 20-30 more WHP down! Something is up with that dyno!

I am not sure, but he was trying to figure out what gear to run the car in. I thought that you run 1:1, which I thought was 7th gear in the A10, which I have.

Hard to say much without the dyno sheet. An automatic will dyno a bit less than a manual. I would not sweat the numbers if your car is running strong. A stingy dyno is no reason to worry. Could be the temp/ humidity in the dyno room too.

what's a cut factory airbox?

how long did you have the TB on before testing, did you pull battery overnight after installation.

That is the correct gear to be in with an A10

TB has been on over three weeks. Car has excellent driving manners. No surging....nothing is amiss AFAIK.

Yeah the guys at the shop are extremely helpful!! They are pulling files on stock Zs and will overlay the graphs..... I am a little concerned about the gear that the dyno was run in. He kept saying that it exceeded the dyno speed capacity, or something like that.

That might be true. 7th gear pulls well north of 150MPH IIRC.

EDIT: 180MPH
