I ran those 0-60 times around 7:30 - 8:00pm. The weather was actually pretty good. Wasn't hot at all.

My cars seem pretty normal, till I am forced to drive my daily driver minivan. Then the difference is very noticeable. I think you get used to the power of these muscle cars, it becomes normal.

Pull negative battery cable and reset what the computer has learned for the past 3,000 miles. It thinks you are a grandpa driver. Then proceed to drive the car as you should have from mile one, like you stole it.

You check your air filter/box? Maybe there’s an obstruction?

These cars are not slow. I'm a fast car snob (if that's a thing) and have driven/owned lots of really fast cars over the years from true open wheel race cars to procharged Vettes. My 2018 ZL1 can still put a smile on my face. Mine has an intake and X pipe (no tune) and it holds its own against anything reasonable. I ran mirror to mirror next to a 650+ AWHP Boost Logic GTR recently...
It's not you, it's the car or the weather or something. Even if you're used to 1000 HP street cars, the ZL1 would not feel slow. Also, as someone who has driven my ZL1 and a LT1 SS back to back (Both stock) they are night and day (in everyway) but especially in acceleration. You have enough time to make a sandwich on your lap before you get to illegal speeds in the SS...the ZL1? Better have both hands on the wheel and be paying attention, especially with the A10, because it rips. Since you say you don't drive modified cars and last car was an SS, you of all people herd should feel the monumental difference in power. |

I didn't read all the suggestions in the posts but have you driven another one to compare?

You have to remember, there is no HP to speed exact ratio. If you have a car with 400HP and it will do a 13sec quarter mile. If you have an 800HP car which is double, the car is not going to do a 6.5sec quarter mile.
Horsepower is incremental in speed. So if you have 400hp to 500hp. That is an increase by 25%. Increase to 600hp, now it is not a 25% increase. The % increase gets smaller and smaller. So in the quarter mile speeds, it takes a lot more horsepower just to get .5 seconds faster from a 10 to 9.5 seconds.

Watch the YouTube video, if you haven't already titled "2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1: Meet the Supercar Destroying Camaro! - Ignition Ep. 168" There's a race between the ZL1 A10 and the ZL1 1LE from a standstill. It's fun to watch reviewers destroy tires they don't have to pay for.
The ZL1 pulls away from the 1LE, but it's not 20 car lengths. It's a gradual pull that continually opens distance between the cars. |
