According to the fast list on this site the 1LE is about 0.1-0.2 seconds slower in the quarter mile, M6 SS vs M6 1LE.

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=427506

The 1LE is heavier than a SS, the rotating mass is greater in the 1LE, the aero has more drag in the 1LE, the tires have greater rolling resistance in the 1LE.
All this adds up to a car that is a little slower doing a straight line dash.

The new LT1 trim stripper with the a10 is going to be the top dog for a straight line

No one bought a 1LE for "straight-line", or if they did, they didn't know what they were doing.

My guess is the 1LE is a little slower in top speed than a regular SS. Those wide tires as mentioned previously will have more drag than the skinnier tires of a regular SS.

Yep!

Motor Trend reports the 2018 SS 1LE M6 does 0-60 in 4.1, the 1/4 mile at 12.5 seconds/115.2 MPH. I read somewhere the top speed is 179, can't remember where.

Motor Trend reports the 2019 SS A10 does 0-60 in 4.1, the 1/4 mile at 12.4 seconds/ 115.8 MPH. Again, I read somewhere the top speed was 182, but can't remember where.

For my money those reported differences are to small to consider relevant, they could easily be attributable to the drivers/track conditions, not the cars.

I would likely say its tires. From a stop light my SS 1LE is faster to 60 and slightly easier to launch on my Daily Set of 255/35 275/35 500TW all seasons on SS (non 1LE) wheels.

Tires have optimal temp ranges and without a burn out the All-Seasons are much more so in there optimal temp range as opposed to the OEM Goodyear Supercar 3s, which need some heat to perform well. Also the all seasons have more give where the SC3s are stiffer and setup for road course racing not drag racing.

Also as mentioned above I'm sure the narrower tires have an effect on the aero. Rember the stock SS also has aero tire deflectors to redirect air away from the tires. These are the deflectors that are required to be taken off for track use and the SS 1LE doesn't have them at all. Not to be confused with the brake deflectors that have to be installed for brake cooling on track, SS 1LE comes with those already installed but the are trimmed down due to the SS 1LEs lower ride height.

So SS 1LE has Wider tires but they aren't really drag tires and require more heat to get working. So worse aero and tires. Meaning the SS has better aero, softer suspension and tires more suited to straight line racing.

Seems logical that they are a touch faster in a straight line in most scenarios.

When I read faster - should mean top speed. Chevy rates SS at 180 and 1LE at 175.

Quicker typically means acceleration - seems like we are all over the map - credit goes to the driver. I'm slow at a 12.8 @ 112 mph, but fast - actual indicated 175 mph.

To add to your data point from a long run on the autobahn, another member got to run WFO for 2.7 miles at Kennedy Space Center with his stock 1LE. He reported 174 indicated on the speedometer, and his timeslip was 172 mph.

No it's not, same exact motor if anything it may be a tenth faster in straight line cause 1le has the wide tires but on a track the 1le will eat up the standard SS.

I believe a SS 1LE won the stock SS class last year at Camaro Fest. So in real world testing I'd say the wider/stickier rear tires of the 1LE will put it ahead of an SS.

Not if it can't get traction on those skinny tires.
