Cost Benefit - Track alignment for 4 track days a year
I need to get an alignment and am debating between the track and standard alignment. I do not have the time to align and then realign before and after each track day.
I drive about 5k/year and do 4-5 track days a year. What I need to figure out is the answer to which way to lean. Stock Alignment - I wear out the tires more quickly.... not sure how much. Track Alignment - I may be a little faster. I know being on this board... most people are more biased to track performance... but I'm on the fence. Is tire wear so much worse with track alignment?

Considering that one has to remove the hood seal, change brake pads/oil, add/remove deflectors, and if 2019 1LE change engine oil and back after track use- changing the alignment may feel like another task that can stay in track mode without hurting much. I rather buy more tires

Tire wear isn't that bad with the GM recommended track alignment. Just try and avoid long highway drives if you can.

The car will need a new alignment after every track day, so not sure the question...
Track Align.

Once you go out and push an alpha car 8/10th or beyond it just happens, the entire alignment shifts. This is a common thing when you track these cars. Rather know it and know the TCo than find out later.

My track alignment got out of whack after 3 track days with the toe, too. But I found that the stock alignment on an aggressive track will eat your tires horribly. A track alignment will damage your tires less on the street than a street alignment will damage your tires on the track, from my experience.

If you don't mind the tramlining from the extra -camber, then go for it.

I bought my ZLE for canyon drives and track and very low miles, switching back and forth is too costly so track alignment for sure. But if it was a daily driverI might stick to street alignment and have a second set of wheels with r comps that took the punishment from inadequate camber.

Can you do a track alignment with the ZL1 1LE front shocks turned to the "track" camber setting and then just flip them back for the street to slow down the front tire wear?
