I wonder why they have you raising and lowering the vehicle to loosen and tighten the cradle when removing the SC? Ive seen videos of where it comes right off.

Also, Can you show the page of the device that hooks to the top of the SC to remove it with a cherry picker? I just need to know where they are placing the bolts into the SC for this device to be lifted. Thanks

The plate on the bottom of the supercharger lid with the 5 screws. That is the noise damper.

You definitely don’t need to lower the engine cradle or even mess with it. And I wouldn’t say it will come right off. But it does come off easy enough with the right sequence of moves. I think the reason Chevy calls for the engine to be lowered is to allow enough clearance to clear the rear passenger side of the blower from the cowl.

No special apparatus really needed with an engine hoist. Just a chain bolted to the 2nd bolt holes back from the front.

The problem is clearing the cowl lip on the passenger side. I found it easiest to raise the blower a little and then slide it forward towards the front of the engine keeping it under the wire harness. Just enough to clear the cowl and then tip the rear up and then push the blower rearward to clear the engine harness loom and up and out it comes. I’ve removed and installed mine 5 different times using this method.

Here is a pic showing the passenger side rear of the blower and what hangs it up from clearing the cowl. This is a pic on my first time. You’ll notice there is no chain or hoist. I manually maneuvered it into this position with blocks and then chained it up to the hoist. Not the best way to do it. The other 4 times I just do everything with the hoist, beginning to end. Much easier.

Remember to install the one blower bolt in the blower on the passenger rear before you go to install the blower and tuck it back under the cowl, otherwise you’ll be pulling the blower back out after realizing there is no other way to get that bolt back in. Doh! Yep, I did that.

This will help out trememdously...thank you. I did design the same apparatus shown from GM on the puller...but I did mine out of uni-strut. I will post pictures tomorrow.

I don’t have a copy of that online manual so I can’t post any more details.

Well yall...THE GOD DAMN BROKEN BOLT IS OUT . I will post some pictures of how I went about getting it out. I will also show the Supercharger lifting device I created out of some uni-strut, bolts, washers, 2" nipples, and an eye bolt in order to lift the supercharger up and move it to the pass. side enough to get the broken bolt out of the head. Fortunately, when it broke, GOD left me about 1/8" of broken bolt to grasp onto with some long angle needle nose and after about an hour of careful turns and some Knocker Loose, she was in my hand. One picture will show how much these bolts will stretch before breaking. Now I wait for new bolts and gaskets and get this bitch back together. Thank you all for all of the help and insight throughout this process!! Yall are the real heroes!

Here are some pictures. I apologize but I have no idea how to turn them the correct way.

Nice job dude !!!! I’m glad you got that ****er out !!!

I just spent 2 hours mounting the Catch Can to the thermostat bolt in the front of the engine. I had to use 2 washers behind the bracket Elite sent me because the round/silver bracket that holds the catch can (and mounts to the “L” shaped bracket) was hitting one of the pulleys !!

Easy fix but for some reason It feels shitty to have had to do that.

For those of you that mounted the can tot he bottom bolt on the thermostat. How the hell did you get the catch can to sit higher than the radiator hose??

Like in the picture below.

The top of my catch can has to sit below the hose that goes to the radiator, there is not enough slack in the radiator hose to wedge the catch can next to it.
