I read the reviews and undeestand that forums wouldnt dictate what GM would do. At least for me a lot of folks blow the 19 look way out of proportion as if it ruined their lives. The 6th gen when it came out looked too much like the 5th, and now the refresh at least is taking it a bit in a different direction, though it proved unpopular to many. You cant make everyone happy.

That looks really good!

I was one of the few that really liked the front of transformers 5 camaro if they toned down just a little (revealed back in spring of 2016 i think). Back then, most didn't like the TF5 car, but no one seemed to be put off specifically by the bow tie and blacked grill.

The TF5 car also had a yellow bow tie more of a match to the body color. I've wondered how the 2019 bow tie would work matched to the body color.

I cited automotive press, new and old, pointing out the obvious, it looks terrible, and a poll showing 93%+ don’t think the ‘19 looks better and your counter is...sales.

Hmm, could it be the Mustang got better? That they’re running crazy incentives on the Challenger? That cars and muscle car sales are down as a whole? Nah, just that the 6th gen suddenly became ugly, and this refresh was so great that GM stopped making it after one year and cited “listening to customers” in their press release. I guess it was just too beautiful to continue making...
You wanted to hear an excuse for that lame poll you showed and i gave it . The fact is the 6th gen needed a miracle refresh from the years of poor sales and it couldn't be delivered . The redo refresh is no better in my eyes and won't save the 6th gen because it won't change the problems that were designed into it from the start.

So you were intentionally obtuse and off topic, so much better...

You know the funny thing is they didn't address the biggest complaint made by magazines and would be buyers being you can't see out of it ,then GM plays it safe by keeping tight to the looks of the 5th gen but make its smaller ,and they raise the price , there is no don't why the 6th gen didn't sell. When the 7th gen comes out people will be crying it don't look enough like Camaro .

Agreed, visibility is simply terrible on these and wish gm would have adressed that first..but price has been a problem with this gen for sure.

Argument: refresh was good because sales were down.

Counterpoints:
-Competition got better: Mustang got 10 speed, hp bump, auto in performance pack, digital cluster, etc., Camaro stagnated.
-Competition got easier to attain: FCA has been offering aggressive financing, longer terms, cheap leases making Challengers more affordable than Camaro.
-Cars are down as a segment: yes Camaro sales tank, passenger cars as a segment and muscle cars as a sub segment have fallen off a cliff. So a declarative statement that “Camaro sales are down” is completely ignorant of market trends
-New ugly =\= improvement: even if the argument was Chevy needed to attract new buyers, simply redesigning for the sake of new at the expense of aesthetics is a poor business model. That’s evident by the immediate change. So that’s a horrible point that low sales are somehow indicative of design attractiveness.

Work better itemized?

I agree, you're never going to make everyone happy but you better make enough people happy to meet sales quota and at least get some positive feedback in the auto world, that didn't happen with the refresh. Just look at the reviews and falling sales. I think that tells the story.

The comments you're referring to about ruining their lives is not even close to the Auto magazine reviews, see below.

You don't see this many refresh attempts on models selling well. Say what you want but when Dodge takes over second place ahead of the Camaro....that's going to set off alarm bells at GM. Mustangs and Challengers are just more appealing looks wise to people then the Camaro. Chevrolet has realized something Dodge already knew....when you have a design that's well recieved by the people that buy your brand..leave it alone.
