Wouldn’t limp mode likely be triggered by air in the IC system? Are there any tuners in your area? Should be able to datallog the problem without guessing what it might be.

Buying a used car after owning new ones has more risks if you’re into Vipers.

I would have to go manual which leaves out the GTR and Redeye. Seems like GT350’s have had their share of problems and a step down in overall performance but do sound good. The Viper could be cool but there is no guarantee it won’t have issues. I know you said you have had it but I say sell your 1LE and pick up another 1LE. Follow break in procedure, don’t mod or crash it and see how it goes.

I'm tired of the engine problems. Same problems I had with my 2017 Z06. For some reason I just have terrible luck I guess. I've given GM 4 chances by buying 4 different GM cars and all had serious problems (one engine blew up).

I don't want to discuss the problems here, I've done that enough elsewhere.

I'd like to hear what others think are good alternative options.

I like american, but its not a requirement.
I like V8s
I like torque
I like cars that look unique, stand out from the rest.
I like sound.
I like cars that handle WELL
Ideally under 100k or I suffer the pain from my wife.

4 seats would be nice but not required.
I'm open to used, but it must be new enough that it has Android Auto.

The usual suspects I think of (minus GM):
- GT350R
- GT350
- Hellcat Redeye (not such a great handling car)
- Nissan GT-R
- Dodge Viper (used)

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
Actually, the Kia is the most reliable trouble free car in the world right now, get one of those if you just want no problems. You will be sorry if you get a V6. They just don't sound right.

if you buy a brand new car, you really shouldn't have to work out problems.

I think Lexus is rated the highest with the least amount of defects

I think the Kia rating could have been a year ago where I read it and that may not have lasted very long. Lexus has been the highest for the longest time for sure.

Here is the most recent. I have owned Toyotas sinc 1992. They are good to be sure.

2017 Grand Sport, rod knock cyl #5, engine replaced. Then it happened again.
2017 Z06, car always went into limp mode, dealer never figured it out.
2018 ZL1 1LE car always goes into limp mode.
No offense man, but maybe you should let someone else buy you a car... or perhaps go somewhere other than Commiefornia to buy one...

As for your original question, I'd just suggest looking into a Trackhawk...seats 4, goes crazy fast, and has 4 doors at that..

...but as I've found out, there is no perfect car or ownership experience. The Porsche dealers **** you over way worse than GM in most cases, they just do it while you sip on a Starbuck Coffee and you cruise around in a Macan loaner.

Pick your poison but there is no better deal on a track worthy car with a Warranty than a C7 GS or C6 Camaro ZL1/1LE.
I am with Sakudog. If you are putting reliable and track together, Porsche should be on your list. I had 4 of them and no issues. Not American, not V8 and not ZL1 torque but a used GT3 or GT4 would hold its value, handle great and not give you the type of problems that you are experiencing. I can’t see Ford or Dodge as a step up from Chevy reliability wise. We have all heard of the track engine issues with the Ford 350/350R for example. Don’t jump from the frying pan into the fire.

Ps. Many see Porsche as bland looking, however I used to get more positive comments and requests for ride alongs at events with my GT3 than I do with my ZL1.

Had a 2018 GTR. It was garbage. Got rid of it after one year. Always in the shop. Old technology and really hasn’t changed since 2008..

DTC tranny shifts like a dump truck. Super rough.. not all it’s cracked up to be for a car ...

Huh? There has to more to this story? Why would any dealer refuse to fix a car that is under warranty. Are they refusing because the car is modded? If not modded, they would likely want to fix it, as GM pays for the work to be done and it adds to their bottom line. I'm confused. Fill in the blanks for me.

Yes the car was wrecked/repaired as well as "lightly" modded a few times so some of the trouble may very well have been self-inflicted.

Statistically the chances of you getting that many cars with engine problems is like winning the lottery 4 times in a row. I would look internal as to what the real root problem is. To me is sounds like it is you and not the cars.

If you want reliability, GTR. All the other cars have had a lot of issues too. It's not just GM. We are talking about performance cars here, not a corolla.

The GTR will handle better than any others listed, it puts the power down (spinnin' ain't winnin'), it's meticulously built and their quality control is bar none, and you can make it an absolute beast relatively cheaply.

There are a few in Toledo.... can't say I like the sound much, however.
