Lt1 is not a cool name I agree, although it is a great idea ! The challenger rt only has the 5.7 this car gets the big 455 horse engine and is a base v8 car. 2020 looks are way better than the 19, and while I wish it was called the Camaro reaper or Camaro slayer it’s much better to look and perform better!

I like the idea of the LT1 6.2 V8 Camaro and I'm thinking GM could just come out with a new Camaro SS 6.6 V8 based on the new truck block but in aluminum instead of cast iron to help separate the LT1 from the SS cars.

I would love it if GM would pay for it by spreading the cost of development across the light duty Silverado & Sierra lineup with this aluminum 6.6 version in the High Country and GMC Denali. GM could make the 6.2 available in the lower trim trucks and make a lot of folks happy.

I like the way you think.

I remember leading up to the 2019 refresh there was so much coverage on test mules... i don't remember reading about any test mules for 2020. I guess either there was much less anticipation for the 2020's thus little coverage on test mules, or that they just didn't need to hide, since the front end changes were just paint and moving a badge?

GM just did the minimum to satisfy all you sensitive types, who were up in arms over how horrible the 19's looked.

They literally painted a 3 foot section and moved an emblem 3 inches. That's all it took and now the haters are posting all over the place "yippee, Thank you GM, Looks so much better, etc...". LOL

All the whining and "major" changes, and the 2019 is still the most aggressive looking SS made.

At least now, we can get some actual worthy threads going, hopefully. Got kinda old when all the threads were the same BS.

Doesn't the LT1 also drop down to the 1LT interior, including the downscale 7" infotainment system, fewer speakers. etc.?
I can't imagine they won't offer the 3LT package and other options. Even something like an RS1.

It's exactly what I want and have bought before. I'll probably buy one.

After owning 5 V8 camaros/firebirds, an 05 GTO, this new LT1 camaro v8 is the only car I'd consider trading-in 015 M6 SS Sedan with 50k miles... GM knows its market! Recently they tried to sell me CTS-V with an awesome track-day but I foiled them by purchasing SS Sedan instead!

I'd still have the 05 GTO but a left-turner totalled it out and I sold it to a friend who fixed it into awesomeness. Hardest part to find is that GTO grille!

Just get the grille off the BMW.

But i wonder if all these whiners are really going to be buyers! Not sure what you wrote even applies here. And many complaints without seeing in person, I know my view changed when i saw 18's and 19's together it in person at the dealer, i changed my mind and ordered one! Heck my bmw 1 series was constantly maligned in the press for being ugly when it came out, when i saw it in person, i changed my mind then too.

But GM is probably responding to a real sales decline in the 19's with the 20's effort. Hope it works!

Regardless of whether or not the folks complaining are buying, the car received A LOT of negative press due to the styling. That in combination with what most of social media was saying really got GM's attention.

Even though I've grown to tolerate the 19 front end, I think GM definitely made the right decision with the change just from a press and image standpoint. The best part is that they were able to do it with minimal effort.

People who have voiced their displeasure with the 19’s style may not be in the market for one, but do care about the image of the brand and how a bad design can affect it in a negative way, potentially causing GM to decide to stop production AGAIN. Which is how I felt seeing the 19’s design.

I’ve seen the 19’s in person and still think the front looks bad, but that’s my opinion and I’m happy for anyone who gets one because they like the way it looks.

After seeing the SEMA front end I was hoping GM would make the call to change the front. Since the reveal of the 2020 refresh it would appear that the response has been extremely positive. I was considering trying to get a used ‘17 or ‘18 to replace my current 2SS, but now I’m fully on board with getting into a 2020 1LE
