They already have the equipment, right? Or the change is so radical (lines might not match, different fittings for the hood) that doing a refresh to a refresh is cheaper/easier?
You are right, 16-18 design required just a minor facelift. New matrix for new plastic items cost a lot, no way back, i think.

Can't tell if this is serious or not.

Just some basic logistics involved:

- Retooling, including restoring old molds
- Production line changes
- Major electric component changes
- Reviving all equipment, materials, and suppliers needed to produce the 16-18 tail lamps

Logistics involved for the 2020 changes:

- Paint a black part a different color...

Why does it have a 4 or 6 banger grill?

I do think the LT1 is a terrific move on Chevy's part. It will boost their sales numbers. If the economy stays on track for a while.

Nearing $4 a gallon. It's way past that now lol. The V6 is fantastic though and I've been running mine on regular with zero issues.

It's a mild improvement but in my view still not as great as the 2016 front end. Those wrap-around fender tabs which GM is so proud of are a total design failure.

I firmly believe the Camaro was ruined by GM's poor product planning and design. Coming from a GM family I'm looking to buy a Camaro and while it undoubtedly out-handles the Mustang and BMW 2 series the poor visibilty and what is in my view cheesy styling are real turn offs. When I look at a Mustang my heart skips a beat yet when I see new Camaro I feel only sadness at the ineptitude GM's decision-makers.

A 7th gen Camaro with sophisticated modern styling similar to the Avista could have been such a hit. Sadly, there will be no 7th gen Camaro - it was terminated late last year. I'm told it was going to look similar to the current Camaro and have just as bad visibility so as usual nobody at GM learned anything from its failure.

LOL, You sound like me when I wanted Kripton Green and everyone told me the color will not get production approved, so I settled for HMB.

Eventually got a kripton green car though.

I felt something was up when Chevy Europe started parading the old Track Concept car around a month or so ago.
