Airbag light on

Good Afternoon,

sine today drove my airbag light in the dashboard does not disappear.
It is permanently on in red.
On the roof (near to the sunroof switch) it shows me in yellow 2.
So after connect to the OBD, fault Airbag passengers.
The dealer told me it takes a while, maybe remove seat to find the issue.
I do not want pay huge money for issue search for the dealer.

Does anyone have ideas or similar issues with the red airbag ligt?
Everything is original and nothing was done in past at the car to bring this fault.

Thank you very much for help
So long
Smudo

Hey Smudo, pardon my naivete, but why would you have to pay the dealer for finding the cause? The issue is obvious, the airbag lights are on for no reason (I assume no airbags actually deployed, you would've noticed that ). Yours is a 2018 ZL1, so it should still be under bumper to bumper. I'd sure take it in and insist that this is a warranty repair.

If they drag their feet, can you easily find another dealer? A good one is worth driving even an hour in the long run IMO.

Oh, now I see, I thought this was all in Mexico (did you edit your profile in the meantime?). That's bad, sorry to hear, and I don't have an answer for you other than since it's the airbag, I'd probably still bite the bullet and get it done, of course after trying a few German dealers. You don't want to be in a potential accident when you have a passenger and their airbag doesn't deploy...

I had an issue with my driver side on Recaros. Had about 300 miles on it. It apparently was a damaged harness. From what I remember the connector coming out of the seat was mangled. Service tech didn't understand how it got released because it had to be jammed in. Seat has to be taken apart to replace the whole harness.

FWIW I had a similar issue with one of my Toyotas where I would get an airbag light. That was a loose connector under the drivers seat.
