GONE: NPP muffler only
Gone! BigNaz took it.
I just installed a Borla Atak NPP last night, so I have the OEM NPP muffler available. There are no actuators, so this would only serve to be a mild upgrade to a non-NPP exhaust. It's free, so I don't really care what you have to do or how you have to make it fit. If you want it, come pick it up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It will go to scrap before July.

How big of a difference is the sound? Is it worth the $? I've been wanting the Atak NPP since before I even got the car...so what is your take on it? 1-10 on sound quality? No drone? Any info would be great. Thanks!

Honestly, I am pretty torn on the sound. It is much more different than I anticipated.
Zero drone. It's loud only when I want it to be. At normal cruising speeds it is completely inoffensive, and I only detect it when I am actually listening for it. If I activate the loud pedal, it gets louder. Exactly what I wanted. The 4 NPP "engine sound management" settings still function as well as they did before. Track mode and Sport mode are louder than stock, but they're not offensively loud. I expected the ATAK to be too loud for my tastes, but I am actually very comfortable with the volume. But the acoustic signature is a lot different than I anticipated. On all of the Youtube videos I saw, the Borla seemed to have a similar sound signature to the stock NPP. I thought it would add a bit more throatiness to the sound and just be louder. However, it appears to me mostly a baritone/throaty sound without that brighter, higher pitched sound of the NPP. I always thought the stock NPP was a bit too high pitch/bright sounding, but I am a surprised that the Borla seems to take that away entirely. The crackle and pop on overrun is also almost completely gone. It will burble a bit on overrun, but it is not as prominent as the stock NPP. They are more baritone as well and a much different octave to the NPP. So overall, the sound is good. But it's just much more different than I expected. I feel like the NPP was much more unique. I feel like my Borla sounds a bit too much like a Mustang or Challenger with its baritone signature. I thought I wanted that, but now I am a bit unsure. I kind of miss the NPP. I bought the Borla used for less than half price so I am not going to worry about it. I wanted something different and that is what I got. I am going to roll with it for awhile and just get rid of the NPP and be done with it. Also, the Borla ATAK NPP does NOT weight less than the OEM NPP. I am not sure how everyone was lead to believe that it is lighter. I thought the switch was going to save 20lbs or so. But, the NPP is actually a couple pounds lighter than this Borla ATAK. I weighed the NPP without actuators at 38-40lbs. The Borla ATAK was 40-42 with the clamps required to fit it in place. The measurements were inaccurate due to using just a bathroom scale, but it was clear that the Borla did actually weight a bit more.
