An aftermarket TC fixes it completely. There is no need to fear the A8. It only happens at highway speeds when you gently roll on the throttle and the car stays in 8th. You just need a quick press of the pedal to get it into 7th, and its fine. Or riding around in sport mode. This is really not that big of a deal.

Yeah it doesn't really bother me at all. Mine does it very infrequently and you can barely feel it, and if it does like you said give it a tad bit of the gas pedal and it's gone again. I think it's all overblown to be honest, the actual problem that is. Having it happen to a new car you paid 45k for though, I can see being mad.

They still haven't got the part to fix their trans fluid machine, just as an update. Should be here in a week or so.

For those of you that have had the shudder and then gotten it fixed with the new fluid.....

Did it fix it right away or is there some validity to the comment that the service rep told me? He said... "It will take about 800 miles or so for the new fluid to soak into everything before you will notice a difference."

Thx.

I was told 500 miles, but it seemed to work right away. I think I'm around 600+ now and have not felt the shudder.

I have about 300 miles on it since the TSB was performed. Service advisor said give it 200 miles to work, but in my case it seemed to work right away. Shifts better than ever, even from when brand new. Hope I caught it early enough that there is little to no damage to the tcc and tranny. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Took mine in yesterday for the new flush, and they are now replacing the torque converter as well. Even though GM specifically now states to not replace the torque converter along with this new fluid and flush, they are somehow able to do it in my case. Have my fingers crossed on this one lol

Agreed. Got the shudder at 4000K miles. Had the flush and reflash done. I now have about a thousand miles on it since, and there is no sign of shudder. It also worked immediately. 👍🏻

Happens in all modes for me, in 6-8th gear in low load. not just 8th gear

Mine was night and day right from when I picked up my car, about 500 miles so far and no issues.

Just got mine back today. New revised torque converter, along with new fluid and flush procedure. Honestly it feels better than the day I bought it. No shudder at all, but even more interesting is that the trans behaves a little differently. Hard to describe, but it just feels better and more correct like a normal trans should IMO. Hopefully this completely fixes it. Anyone know what is different about this revised torque converter? Service advisor couldn't really tell me
