Without a doubt the previous owner that traded it in did not take care of it very well and I’m also glad that I was so quick to go look at it that way I could see it in its original state. At the same time that doesn’t mean the car isn’t worth anything, in fact Kelley blue book lists it at 33K. I’m not trying to minimize the cars issues at all and I’m grateful for everybody’s responses. I know that I may have to walk away, but I’m still thinking about it. Thank you

With new wheels and tiers and a thorough detailing, it could be a steal. I wouldn't just walk away. But be very cautious. Maybe even have an independent shop evaluate it.

I'd pass on it, the price isn't anything great and it's obviously not been taken care of. For the same price or a few thousand more you could get a car in much better shape with way less miles.

I would pass with that mileage and knowing it may not have been cared for very well. Keep in mind, you could probably find a mint 2013 ZL1 with 10k miles for $33K. Unless you can lowball them into mid 20's for price, I wouldn't touch it!

BO? Sounds like the previous owner drove that car without a shirt on and sweat a lot. Stay away.

Or maybe a 350 LB woman who wore tank tops and yoga pants. Think about that while you're at lunch today

Wonder if the smell came from the owner's reaction to whatever caused the under carriage damage. As Bill Cosby once said when talking about a near accident in his Ferrari "First you say it, then you do it".
Back to the question...Wait to see what the detailers are able to do with the smell and the wheel rash, then re-evaluate the car. Ask the dealer if they would be willing to CPO it. This will ratchet the price up a bit, of course. Unless you can convince the dealer that it's the least he can do to make the deal, given the Carfax status.

The undercarriage damage is what would put me off on this deal. In my experience, Carfax understates the significance of this type of damage. The fact that they recognized it at all would have me concerned there is more to it they DID NOT SEE.

I’d rather buy a 1SS new for a touch more. So no, I’d pass on it. $30k is a lot of dough, I’d want to be sure it’s solid
More likely a repainted hood than the wrap removed |
