Those results are not independent test. Independent test carry the same criteria in all test so there can be no manipulation of results. MT, Car and driver and Hot Rod (not a article test by others) do independent test. All the other results are just hero runs taped for our enjoyment. There are many SS videos with sub 12 times and there no better then the GT hero times we’ve seen.

First of all, I would definitely consider this to be a legit independent run and this car clearly clicked just under 4.0. Kudos. Seriously, this is a good thing.

Second, this car is clearly a GT*. I think most here have agreed that the GT* is a drivers race with an SS, slight edge to the GT*. This run supports that idea. But as many of us have pointed out, most GTs are not GT* and should not be laying claim to this sort of time. Idaho’s car sounds like it is in the club and has this level of performance. Most GTs on dealer lots are not.

Third, it did take a prepared track to get it in under the 4.0 mark. Have to wonder how an SS on a similarly prepped track would do. Could be that it would also tick in just under 4.0

The argument being given is that only shills for Ford or blatant cheaters have gone 11’s in the GT, which is false. Private owners may have gone 11’s in the SS but we don’t recognize those times for obvious reasons.

It’s funny you say they did 3.9 to 60 based off the article, but if you really read it, it was actually 3.99 sec. so basically 4.0. So then they say it did 11.9 in the 1/4, so really it was 11.98 they didn’t have a time slip but used a Racelogic Vbox II GPS data logger as there timer. So my guess they also rounded down like they did in the 0-60 time. Plus like everyone has said, that car was a pp1 with drag mode to get that time on a prepped track. Show me there Camaro SS review.
