2018 Hot Wheels Kit
Hello Everyone!
New to the forum. I have a 2018 Camaro 2SS Auto Hot Wheels Edition I bought 2 weeks ago. It has been sitting in the showroom since it arrived and only had 8km on her. While researching the car on here and trying to find more information about it I seen that someone posted this kit that came with theirs. Has the name of the original owner, the number of the car, the VIN with a first gen model and the sixth gen model. So, I went ahead and messaged the Chevrolet Camaro page asking about it and they got my VIN and the dealer information. They they told me my information was going to be transferred to the right people. I got an email 2 days ago that said the following: "Thank you for contacting our US team. Our US customer Care team forwarded your contact information to us regarding your inquiry on obtaining the Camaro Hot Wheels Kit. We’ve had the opportunity to review further with our Marketing team regarding the owner’s package for the Hot Wheels Edition Camaro. The package is currently only available in the U.S. If this does change, we will notify you with an update. Rest assured we have your request documented on file and our marketing team has been notified for awareness. We apologize for the frustration and any disappointment this may cause." However, I don't see how me being in Canada makes any difference? It's still the Hot Wheels Edition Camaro and still made in The States. I tried calling the US number today and they told me that they cannot actually access any info on the vehicle because it was shipped to Canada and they would transfer me to GM Canada however it wasn't answered as today is a stat. So, couldn't GM Canada simply transfer all my info to GM HQ and then get the ball rolling on getting this kit? |

Sadly I don't think the kits were given to any of the Canadian Hot Wheels owners. I have never heard a reason why they were only given to US owners.

Yeah, it's very weird. However, I'll be updating on Tuesday when I call. Hoping for good news.

That’s my kit and unfortunately I don’t think Canadian owners will get one from what I’ve been hearing for several months now.
Contacting GM is what everyone else did and no one has gotten anywhere unfortunately. Good luck maybe GM will come through eventually as all Hotwheels owners should have this regardless where they they

I did not give up as I thought that I had nothing to loose and sent an email on this to mary barra ..I heard from them in a few days , they said that they would look into it but you live in Canada and gm Canada should be helping ...a couple more weeks went by, they had 2 people contact for my info and said that they were going to make an exception ....they sent me the certificate and from this I was able to help several other Canadians get their certificates .. My advice would be send mary barra an email like I did , as I thought that I had nothing to loose because at that point we were not getting it ..I wished that they did a hot wheels gift like yours as there was a 13 hot wheels made also ....you have nothing to loose it doing it , good luck .. there is an Ontario Camaro show in Oakville in june |
