That is what the warranty is for. If anything he should run it hard a lot in the first 5 years because it's covered if it does blow. 1LEs are made for track use.

Chevy tracks the performance variants nearly to the level of the Corvette. If you understand what’s all involved... The car will be just fine on track. The V6 and Turbo 1LE were track tested like the SS 1LE. |

My thoughts exactly. Chevy wouldn’t market this as a track ready variant if it was going to blow up. It’ll be just fine.

I thought I read on here that a Turbo 1LE just won Cam C class last fall against the v8 cars? Seems like it did alright on the track...

That was autocross not a track, completely different. But either way it should be fine on the track, I mean it has been tested to work on the track so I don't see why it wouldn't be fine.

Shoot, I'm planning on taking my non-1LE turbo 4 to the track. I'm going to push it to see how far it can go. I'll eventually do brakes and cooling upgrades. But am I concerned about even the stock model? Nope. The radiator and intercooler are fairly high capacity for this engine and the turbo 4 camaro is really light. Mine is 3280 pounds. I won't be doing a lot of lead foot braking around a small road coarse in this car and I won't be going 10/10 before doing brakes/fluid and maybe an oil cooler, but I have no doubt that this car bone stock will make it around the track at 7/10 and not have a problem.
With the auxiliary coolers on the turbo 1LE, its not even a question. It can handle being pushed hard 10/10 on the track with no mods. Someone made a comment about the Corvette. It's interesting, the corvette C7 forums are absolutely littered with discussion about over-heating problems, even on supposed track variants, Z06, grand sport, etc. I've been on Camaro6 for some time, and I can count on one hand the number of threads about over-heating in a 6th gen camaro. Several times it seemed to be an electrical issue with the fans not coming on. I've never heard of a single turbo 4 ever over-heating, and its not because people aren't driving these cars hard. The only conclusion I can come to is that GM really did a good job with heat management in this car. There are a few aftermarket parts that claim more capacity but the OEM system is very good. I should have clarified, I will be doing autocross, not track racing.

A guy I know bought one and is using it for time trials (NASA, GTA, Grid Life, etc). He owns a performance shop here in the ATL-ish area. Follow him at https://www.facebook.com/2JRacing-206550699368164/ and https://www.instagram.com/2jracing/

It does include the 'extra capacity' cooling system so that should help with road course duty.

I see heavy duty cooling package, and extra capacity cooling listed with the 1le options on the chevy build site. I know on 16-18 it added an oil cooler and the aux radiators.

Unless I'm interpreting their codes incorrectly, extra capacity heavy duty cooling (RPO V03) and auxiliary coolers (RPO V18) are 2 different things.
