A 500-ish HP mid-engine sports car in the 60K range. Tell me how many other mid-engine cars with that kind of potential start below 100K?

I will miss the front-engine car and I absolutely love the way it looks, but if the price is nearly the same...who cares?
That's just the internet for ya. People want to hate on stuff immediately before ever setting eyes on it or driving it or knowing performance numbers.

All the losers in life are trolls because they only have two choices to make themselves feel better about themselves. One is to work really hard to improve themselves so they are better than most, or they can lie and pretend that others are beneath them, and it’s the others who are losers. Losers take the easy way out and troll.

its so easy to spot the losers these days. They tell on themselves by putting everything and everyone down. Makes them feel superior. Just ignore and enjoy your life!

This is the first time I've really looked at a picture of the C8, guess I didn't want to look, since I'm still in the camp that a long nose-short deck layout is the only true Vette.

But those side intakes! yuk!!!

I read a story online that the GM bean counters were too tight on the engine budget and they were having trouble getting the LT2 to the 500hp minimum and that was delaying the engine. So, the first C8s will all be the LLT V6 or LLX, whatever they are calling it.

I think the design looks pretty cool, but I have no interest in it since there is currently no plan for a real manual with 3 pedals.

For me, my ZL1 is my 3rd vehicle. A want, not a need.... So, for me, my toy must have 3 pedals. So, if there won't be a 3 pedal C8, then I'll never own one.

LOL.

Yeah, they seem to be quite... uh... distinctive.

I am looking forward to seeing what it really looks like without any camo. I'm not saying it is, but some of the body shape may be somewhat concealed by camo with padding etc. We won't really know for sure until they reveal it.

Please. There is no way the base engine is this car will be the LLT V6. That might be the most ridiculous thing I've heard...ever.

And, it is the LFX V6, not the LLT. So, my bad...

Thumbs up

I have been wanting a mid-engined Corvette ever since seeing their Aerovette/XP882/895/897 concept cars in the 1970s (and I owned a Corvette at the time).
The series I had (1968) was originally supposed to have been mid-engined, but the cost-killers at GM axed it.
It was always a shame.

So if it really happens this time around, hooray!!!
At long last!

Current situation is they are having some issues with engine internals and vendor supplied parts. Spinning main bearings on the V8 n/a engine. Everything is fine with pre production bearings but when using mass produced ones they spin them during full duty cycle testing.
