The supplemental performance manual does say this. Page 15. Does not apply to the LT4 engine though. I couldn't see an issue being a 1/4 qt or a 1/2 quart over. I generally run my Viper a hair overfull after an oil change. Partly depends on how long I let the engine sit when checking it. "For LS/LT 1LE, add 0.9 L (1.0 qt) of oil over the nominal fill level for atrack event. After the competitivedriving, remove the excess oil sothat the level on the dipstick is notabove the upper mark that showsthe proper operating range."
