Manual Transmission!!!
I"ve been driving manual transmission since 1980 including the last 20 years in LA & OC (California) traffic to and from work! The Camaro I purchased is at the dealership awaiting the remedy for the EPS recall. I'm in a Camaro loaner with an auto transmission and I'm experiencing serious withdrawals! |

I bought the 1LE because it didn't come in "automatic". I like it.

Manual guy here with a manual ZL1 and all manuals since 1981 with one exception. Stupidly ordered a dual clutch M3 in 2016. When it came in, I quickly realized what an idiot I was and sold it in six months. Love my manual ZL1 even though it's not as fast as the A10. I don't give a rats ass about that.

A Manual transmission is an anachronism. Its outdated technology. Why do you think supercars no longer offer standard shift rowing.

I briefly entertained the idea of an A10, but considering the extra $2400 and that I'll never hit the strip, I stuck with the M6.

Because with an auto trans Anyone can drive them and makes it much easier to drive . Having automatic trans opens up your sales in the USA to the 82% of the people who can’t shift their own gears. Super cars have always been fast just not always automatics and the sales of them nowadays show that . For me I would give up that little bit of speed and take the manual driving experience over an auto in any performance car .

you gotta know how to drive with one hand! a standard is like no condom. always the risk for lossing control if you shift to the wrong gear while turning. For the record I have not driven the A8 or A10 but the stick feels more apropriate for the vert.

AT only offers convenience. There is no fuel economy advantage and the (small) performance edge is not justified by the cost differential. I like the technology and performance of modern automatics, but, IMHO, the option would have to be in the sub-$500 range for me to consider it. |

Auto or dual clutch. I'll prefer a manual when I start preferring to make my own butter and sew my own clothes

I Like the torque of my SS, and control of a manual, but I do not live in a big city or deal with much stop and go traffic. I have preferred manuals for all my long driving life on sporty performance cars and have mainly had manuals since 1969. My SUV is an automatic of course, and I find the Tremec transmission pretty good.
I see the new generation not embracing manuals and I don't think they are all into time slips at the drag strip. They simply don't know how to drive one. My grandson is 21, talks al lot about performance cars. I try to get him to take mine out and he wont, At that age I would have done anything to drive something like this. Each to their own, but manuals are a dying breed in my opinion. What a shame |

Manual all the way. When did we start getting lazy with our muscle cars ? Yeah the auto is faster but that's fine for the few that are really going to track the cars. There's a reason they put a higher value on the old muscle cars when they have a stick, that's what folks want. Ask your mom or grandma what they'd like to drive, I'll bet it's an automatic.

I love manual cars, and have driven them just as much as I've owned automatics over the years.... that being said...
I bought a automatic with my ZL1 simply because it launches better and was significantly faster in the 1/4 mile.... had this not been a serious issue with manual cars.. I'd almost certainly own a manual ZL1 No regrets and I am very happy with my choice

All my past Trans Am's and my current Mecham Trans Am and Camaro are manuals. Love them. But with that being said, when I get a ZL1 it will be the A10. I dont mind the manual but maybe I have just owned to many. I am ready for a Auto muscle / sports car.
