Alignment question
2019 ZL1 1LE-I had the dealer do the track alignment to factory specs -2.9 front camber 0.0 toe, -2.0 Rear camber. 0.0 toe. All looked good, steering angle 0.0 etc...they used a flush in floor hunter alignment rack, very new, slick setup. Early in the process, the tech used the hydraulic lifts built into the alignment rack to lift the car by the rear control arms, and front control arm bushing area. He lifted it briefly and set it back on the rack. Is this normal? He said the plastic control arm covers he jacked on in the rear were meant to spread the weight out. The front was near the end, bushing area near hub. Nothing looks broken or bent. Kind of freaked me out. I do all my own work, except alignments, as I don’t have the equipment. Any thoughts?

They should have not lifted it from where you mentioned... especially on areas like that. Never-the-less. Typically when a section is done, they would roll the car back a forth a few times to then re-check that the alignment was taking. The platforms that the tires sit on should move/slide. (That "spread the weight out" was a 10 out of 10 on the BS scale) Those are purely to cover the control arms for under car aero assistance.

I guessed that was b.s., the alignment really was dead on when finished. The guy seemed very conscientious otherwise. So the obvious question is, how could I detect any damage if in fact any was done.
