I get your point bro, I was just saying I don't think that just because you endured that as a youngster, that you would want to re-live it on purpose.

All things should mature with age and time.

Becky
You didn't sell your ZL1 to Frank so you could step up to a ZL1 1LE ?
When I saw he bought a white one, I had to wonder.

No Tim, Becky still has hers. Color choices were slim on the remaining 18’s in stock. Going to daily this one, actually really happy it’s white!

Okay took delivery of the 1LE today and I don't know what all the fuss is about with the stiffness, it's not harsh IMO...I wouldn't necessarily love it as a daily but even then I think it would be fine.

Feels like it should, a tight and connected race car.

As I was leaving the golf course yesterday, driving 20 min home on the 405....I was thinking bout this thread again!! Hope that stigma goes away!! Anyway, there were definitely a few street flaws on the way to the fwy...and while I did get reminded of this part it was quickly washed away with all the fun, the handling and the sound! Guess that is the point of the 'rough ride stigma' always there but in whose feel does it matter? if the highs way overshadow the lows then it is like dating the most beautiful woman you could ever find.....stunning in all catagories, but she belches......give her up or take the beltch with the beauty???

1LE

All the people hating on "the ride quality" of the 1LE. There are an awful lot that seem to have the exact same opinion on that. Have you all driven one? I have a 19 1LE and a 16 GT350 in my garage. The 1LE smashes it in just about every single category (other than sound), and rides just fine considering what it is. Love the looks of the 1LE as well, simply my personal opinion.

Worth driving both for sure, but for me the 1LE was a no brainer!

100% agree with you there! Rides like its on rails (in a good way) and looks the part too! Love it!

I have an '18 ZL1 and I briefly thought about trading for a 1LE. My local dealer let me drive one so I could get a sense of the ride difference. I will say it was nowhere near as harsh as I was expecting and easily something I would drive around. If not for the complete waste of money of going from an '18 to another '18 I would have pulled the trigger.

In short...if the ride quality is your only concern it isn't that big of a deal. It is true that the 1LE doesn't have the flexibility of the mag ride...but I leave mine in the more aggressive settings anyway (still not as harsh as the 1LE, but you get my point). I bought the car for fun so the ride doesn't bother me one bit.

And I realized today that the tires were all at 44psi COLD when I was making that call on ride quality. Lowered them to 32psi but haven't had a chance to take it out again. Would expect further improvement.

I've read every comment in this thread, and spoken with a friend that has the ZL1 1LE, and I have made a decision....

I'm in the process of selling my 2010 SS and I will be getting the ZL1 1LE. The ride can't possibly be as harsh as my SS is/was....

I do like the solid stance and feel of a well planted car, and I'm willing to give up a little "comfort" for that feel....

Thanks for all the comments pro and con.... It has helped me decide.... I haven't ordered my new car yet, as I need to sell my SS first, but there is a buyer for it as my 2010 is a niche car....

I'm looking for a reliable comfortable car I can drive around the country supporting others as they race their rides.... I might make a easy pass or three around some road courses, but mostly I just want a more sedate and fun car to drive, that has all the performance I need at this point... Maintenance and tire costs will drop tremendously selling my SS and buying this car... Since I am being medically retired, it's time to slow down a bit....

I've even chosen the color I want with the help of my wife.... These are Chevy website photos.... obviously not my car yet.... but soon....
I was looking at the Garnet Red Tintcoat, as my 2010 is Red Jewel Tintcoat, but my wife led me around the different colors and this one jumped out at me...

I'll be purchasing my new car through Becky, and I'm so looking forward to going to Detroit to take delivery...

That pic looks altered. The stock ZL1 1LE has more wheel gap than that, it does not look like it is slammed or on coilovers.
