1LE: do you run the Powerstop Z26 pads?
I'm considering the change from OE pads and I don't need that much bite on the street but less dust would be really great but specific question: the Z26 is how they perform in the rain? Times I've been on my A/S tires in the rain the pedal almost goes to the floor and I'm looking for better performance in that way. Too the OE pads freeze to the rotors if I even spit next to them (j/K) but they do freeze up very easy.
I didn't have this with my Mustang GT/PP w Brembos which probably had a less aggressive pad material, so I'm thinking a less aggressive pad would make the dust and rain/wet performance more liveable. |

Only on the street. It's not a track pad in any way.
Z26's when wet have a strange inconsistently grabby feel. They also stick to the rotors overnight when wet and do it significantly more than the stock Ferodo pads. Their main advantage is the low dusting, but in most measurable metrics they're *slightly* worse overall, which can't be a surprise at their price point. ***Edit*** *slightly*. If the stock Ferodo's are overall A+, Z26 are overall an A-, so the overall change is subtle. FYI, a brake pedal doesn't "go to the floor" because of the pads. You likely induced ABS + have air in the ABS module. It sounds like you need a fluid flush regardless of what you do with pads.

I ran Z26's on the street with my SS 1LE brakes, and I still run Z26's on the street with my ZL1 brakes. The lack of dust far outweighs the slightly fidgety wet behavior, and when I say that it means they're still better than most other marques OE pads. That right there should tell you they're perfectly fine as a street pad.

Haven't installed yet as I'm trying to find a countersunk punch to knock out the pins, because I know I'll smurf up the calipers if I try knocking those pins out with a regular punch. So for now I'm dealing with the dust over chipped up calipers.

1LE and SS are not the same size in brakes.. at least the fronts to my knowledge, someone will chime in with accurate info here in a sec.

There's no track duty here so that's not a factor for me. But with the OE pads in the rain, it's a pump, pump, pump the brakes because of the water that is on the rotors and pads, it's not a fluid problem. No issue at all when dry. Pumping the brakes when wet isn't something abnormal per se but this OE pad is dangerous when wet. It's something I haven't gotten with previous Brembo brake packages which I'm certain didn't have such an aggressive pad.

Front: Z26-1405
Rear: Z26-1718 no doubt they fit the 1le. i have them on mine, never experienced any issues in street duty that would make me question their quality.

I've had the Powerstop Z26 pads on my 1LE for almost 20k miles now, not one issue with them at all other than some very minor fade when pushed really hard.

I bought Z26 pads for my 1LE and will never use them because it's a track car now. Anyone wants to make me a fair offer, send me a PM
