I xpeled my entire car. I have had a few cars without it. My thought goes like this...

it is $15,000-$20,000 to repaint the car it is $4,000 to xpel the entire car. I am willing to take the trade off.

the last car I had without it looked like a sand blaster hit it after many track days. The tires on my zl1 1le are sticky as hell no need for damage. Not to mention the rockers are hard for people not to hit when getting out of the car.

spend the money it is great insurance.

I have an app. for the 24th to have mine done in 3M pro and can't wait to have it protected. Paint is very thin on these cars.

Make sure you look at a piece of 3M first. its heavy orange peel.
I'm not a PPF guru but I have seen 3 rolls of film in person when they did my car.

1. Suntek. least orange peel.
2. Xpel. some orange peel, you could say the peel matches the car.
3. 3M most orange peel by a lot.

How do you like having the whole car done? I’m debating doing my entire car or just the high impact areas. I have a local guy hooking me up with a great deal.
$1350 - full front bumper, full front fenders, mirrors, a-pillars, partial roof, full rockers, lower section of doors, impact area behind the rear wheels, carbon hood insert & top portion of the carbon wing
$3000 - full car
Xpel ultimate plus & xpel stealth on the satin black portions

I was initially going to do exactly the same areas as you along with the hood, figured if I was doing that much might as well do the whole car.
I took it in the very first week of ownership with no scratches, chips, or swirl marks anywhere I could see and of course it's still that way.
I know it's not for everybody but for me it was the best mod I've done.

that is a killer deal. I paid $3600 before tax and $4,000 after tax for my entire car. Worth every penny. Did a drive with a few guys yesterday had rocks flying because the roads aren't in great shape. Didn't even think twice.

Yeah that video along with the other wire brush scratch tests and and rock-chip impact tests are great demonstrations of why PPF (any PPF) is a worthwhile investment.

This is what your tires will do to your car:

While comparing the three major PPF brands is always fair, IMO brand does not matter that much provided you're staying within the same class of film (i.e. all films you are comparing are self-healing films). IMO, a durable hydrophobic coating on top of any of the 3 films would perform as well or better than the the best of the 3 tests (3M) in that video.... plus give all the other benefits that a coating gives.

What really matters when it comes to PPF is the installer. Installer matters much more than the brand of film. Look for Installers who will do the proper paint correction first, tuck and wrap edges and remove emblems, etc. to minimize edges/seams. Optimizing fitment and quality of the install is worth far more than the small differences between the films. When the installer says they prefer a given brand of film, ask why. If they carry 2 or 3 brands, ask them which they find easier to get a better quality result. Is it the same brand?

Yes it's worth the investment but I'm biased because my shop is an Xpel dealer.

But regarding of brand PPF is wise investment on these cars if you plan on keeping it.

The installation really isn't that hard. I followed the instructions and am very happy with the results. There is some technique involved but it is easy to learn. They send you everything that you need. If you look at it, you'd never know that it was a DYI job.

My car is not a daily driver so I did not do the front bumper. I did the sides and backs of the mirrors.
