I've never seen the OE disks only for sale, only full rotor assemblies. DBA makes some rings (discussed here) that will fit but depending on when you look they're sometimes more expensive than the OE assemblies.

Do you have links handy for those? I've never been able to find the OE stuff that cheap except for a year or so ago on ebay and haven't seen them that cheap since!

OE PNs are
Front Left: 23142500 (GM) or 177-1193 (ACDelco)
Front Right: 23189768 (GM) or 177-1194 (ACDelco)

KNS brakes carries a replacement for the front - not need to replace the hat if not injured

Right. Plus, with OE assemblies you don't have to worry about balance being off even though the OE rings are slightly heavier than the DBA rings.

Just curious do the OEM rings come with the hats already installed? I finally decided to go with the DBAs and installed them last weekend - pretty simple.

How are you going from $700-800 to $369?

Also if you go OEM and replace the whole thing are they just scrapping the hat or do they reuse them? Seems like a waist to me.

Each vs a pair. Brand new hats with brand new discs fully assembled.

With oem rotors, do you need to remove the coating they are shipped with before installation? I just unboxed a pair and there seems to be a gray coating on them, with no surface metal visible. I'm not sure if this is meant to be scrubbed off or is some coating meant to be left on for bedding.

Leave it on it will clean up all by itself with just a bit of heat when driving normally. Cheers!

Only reason to go the DBA ring swap (or other rings) route is they may last a little longer for track use, otherwise the OEM rotor assembly is cheaper and easier depending on who you buy from. GM doesn't sell just the rings, only the assembly.

Make sure you get the rotors on the correct side, they are directional and are not marked with direction or part number etc.

Doing the hat transfer seems to be straight forward and what I will be doing on my next set using BDA rings. video showing a Corvette ring swap:

funny you mention this - i was freaking out trying to make sure I got them installed on the correct side.....until i realized the side of my box literally said Right & Left front in small print on the label. maybe they added the side indicator since you got your set?

The OE Ferodo are HP1000 compound which is a couple notches below the DS2500 which the Mustang GTPP and Shelby use, which is a DD+(some) Track pad. The 1LE rotors remind me of the 15.5" on the Shelby.
