Video through screen

I know the 16's will do this when parked and there was some jailbreak apps to make it work on the 17-18's but does anyone have any current info on making video play on a 17-18 screen? No it's not while driving, I spend a lot of time parked for work and video would be nice either through flashdrive or my iphone. I do have the 1lt RS screen.

Thre are a coule of ways, and I have them both done on my screen

1. DIY mobile. You have to send your entire unit to them, and they change the software that allows you to play video through the USB, and operate the navigation, both while driving. (for those who think that's bad, I don't really give a $hit

2. NavTV makes a couple of adapters that allow you to add both camera inputs as well as HDMI input to be displayed on your dash.
I used these to add a front camera, as well as to add ROKU TV to my car. Or, I can use my iPHONE HDMI adapter, and mirror my iPhone to the OEM screen

The To my knowledge, neither of these work with the smaller screen

i thought video files could be played while parked using the usb? Do a search here. Ive seen it. I remember the resolution of the video has to be 720p and believe the format has to be mp4 or possibly avi.

Feature was completely removed from 2017+, Gen5's service is the way to get it back.

For the tech savvy, Android Auto can be made to mirror a phone screen...
