I think we should all appreciate TheRedhead's honesty, but his reasoning seems very odd. These cars aren't for financial investments or to make you feel "special" about yourself. They're for recreational purposes and you enjoy them by what they can do, not by what they do for your image. If you don't view them as such, you probably won't enjoy them and will feel let down.

I never understood why some people's self esteem are tied to their cars and how they act like they're something great because they bought a car. They had nothing to do with the engineering or anything with the car. They literally just wrote a check.

Maybe TheRedhead should sell his car and get a GT350 or GT500. Those cars might make him feel more special.

So you “don’t understand “ Apparently what you really don’t understand is that people are individuals and they don’t all think like you, necessarily want to, or could if they tried. People are emotional beasts of inexplicable variety.

No, I just think it's pathetic when people get their self esteem from a vehicle they purchased and then brag on it like they had anything to do with the manufacturing of said vehicle.

Just another personality for good or bad, it’s subjective.

Good point. For some reason it just rubs me the wrong way though.

I know you don't like the fact that the "rumored" 750 was double that, but Chevy NEVER made the claim this would be an limited edition. They were asked many times and always said they would make as many as they could sell with no limits.

I can understand the Manual part you're upset about because they did say that wouldn't happen on the 1LE, gave reasons for it and then it did anyway. I gave up an A10 just to get a 1LE and 4 months later find out I could have had the combo. I'm still glad they did it though. The only thing better would be the LT5 A10 combo I'm waiting for now.

Any reason you can think of where where you missed the turn and assumed I ordered a 1LE in 2017 when it wasn't available?? I think you zigged when you should have zagged. The depreciation isn't limited to the 18 1LE...us lowly 17 A10 guys took the smack as well.
Yeah, I already took that kick in the ass on my 17 A10 trade in.

A 7th Gen, AlphaII, LT5/Tremec DCT 8 (rumored to be slated for the C8) 1LE combination. I feel you brother!

Please explain to my wife that it’s your fault that I am considering doing this again.

If that were only the case, it seems apparent, deep into the 2019 model year, with 2018s still on the lot and being discounted, that they exceeded that. In my opinion, knowingly as the unique components had to be ordered well in advance. The 750 was a smoke screen so that we would think that there was a corporate lessons learned from the Z/28 sales debacle.

Wow!!! I am new here but not new to life! I have to enter my response since I feel compelled. I first start with Waterman's point....RH just gave his , HIS, opinion on HIS purchase and experience and finally, HIS disappointment. That is no sin, as opinions are always searched out here on these forums. That's why forums are here! Second...Those of us that read "Opinion" chose to take insult since it seemed to hurt and reflect on OUR cars and decisions! Seems more like WE got offended which by definition...:"opinion" doesn't intend to do. Third...The subject......did he lose $, did he miss the point of the car, or did he just not do what WE deem correct in his actions? Seems pretty obvious to those of us who go back and reread how we jumped in without much consideration for someone else who apparently doesn't agree with US. So, lets go back over these points....OUR, WE, US! Ahh, there's the issue....It's HIS words and entitled to which I didn't read as intended offensive or attacking nor disrespectful. I will admit it is interesting to compare the ZLE to a Grandsport for value. Can't go there, but my opinion. I also know, from owning one, the ZL11LE is quite seriously a very special car....consider it's mark made...…..Nurburing it Kicked everyone's rearside and it pissed every car maker off...….exotics being beaten by an American car??? and production car at that?? A Friggin 'CAMARO' just throttled the best Europe had to offer!!! So they all went back and beat the crap out of their computers to get even! That is pretty cool! So, yes, our production machine IS special. Now, promising they would do this and that and wouldn't do this or that...….well, I am a Realtor and that is like a builder saying "I won't build another home like yours...promise...so go ahead and pay that 4.5mill and we are good to go! Riiiiiight! But in fairness to RH..you expected those vows to last..and that is probably where it all went to hell in a handbasket...they lie! But on the other hand...you gotta be honest that when you get in, press the green lited push start button and the cold start wakes up the entire neighborhood and then you start down the street heading for the open road and shift that handshaker and it bodes bad for most anything else out there...….That's gotta feel special?
We're all good people here, for the most part, so do what you need to do but we just don't have investments in $$$$ just investments in the Chesire cat grins each and every time the go pedal gets popped!!
