Stealth Splash Guards

Hi all,

New to the forums, thanks for having me.

I didn't want to hi-jack the ZL1 Stone/Splash Guards mega thread in which much work was done by meSSohappy but I wanted to ask about these Stealth Splash Guards (link below)

https://www.southerncarparts.com/201...ription_tabbed

Has anyone tried these for their Zl1?

The fact that you do not have to remove the rear wheels to install as well as the use of existing holes to apply seems appealing.

I just don't know if the end product functionality, durability and look/fit is worth the "convenience" and pricing that is suggested.

Thanks for your insight!

Those look like the zl1 addons. I think the ACS rock guards will look and fit better. Yes they are a bit pricey but they should be worth it .

I second that they do look like zl1 add on ones. The ACS are expensive but I just put my fronts on today and my rears will be here on Friday. They don’t look anything like “truck” guards from zl1.

I was on the ACS rock/splash guard bandwagon until I saw the price. Just can’t wrap my head around paying 400 bucks for them (F&R). Don’t get me wrong, I’ve dumped thousands into my performance mods, but $400 for some exterior plastic pieces ??? Maybe it’s just me and I’m missing something here.

That was my thing too, sure they may look a little better, but they’re there to stop rocks and for the amount they’re actually seen I’ll pay the $89.99 F&R from ZL1 vs $199 per set from ACS. Pretty sure the last thing people check out on these cars is the rock guards when they walk by.

Completely agree with SilverZL1 and you. I have ZL1addons and will be installing them over the weekend. I like that they mount to the OEM holes too. Twice the price and I would have thought about ACS but no fan of drilling more holes to mount. At the $400 they want I can’t justify the price difference, I put the saved $300 difference toward paint protection. The ones mentioned above look similar to the ZL1addons.

Some FYI from experience.

You'll need to make new spacers for these rear flaps if you want them to sit flush on your fender edges and you'll also need to put some foam strips between the flap and fender edge to get a finished look, as there will be a gap between the flap and the fender/rocker. This is why we wanted molded flaps.

The fronts you can do with the wheels on, the rears, because of the extra effort, will be easier with the wheels off.

Gonna post up my used flaps for sale.

Not hijacking...just FYI. They are much cheaper and look decent with a little extra TLC
