Do any of you know weather or not the dealer will do this new flush if the car really doesn't have the shudder at the moment? I know mine isn't completely right (maybe early stages?) but it's not something that's really bothersome or something that even may be noticeable to someone else. My line of thinking says to get the new fluid in there before there's any appreciable damage, but not sure the dealer will see it this way. Just curious

Definitely unfortunate, but you do have options, the dealer should put in the new fluid under warranty, if it doesn't work long term, you can still get a new torque converter. Once the warranty expires, you can get it tuned and forget the issue for good.

Yes, this whole problem sucks, yes, GM should be called to answer on their shenanigan (which a class action could easily accomplish, see the related thread here), but all in all I wouldn't let this overshadow the magnificence of the car, be it the amazing handling, the torque, the sound or the presence.

Depends on the dealer. I for one can't complain.

Soo as I keep reading this for the SS's, is it also a problem with the V6 as well. When mine warms up and I go WOT it seems to slip a bit, I don't notice the tach going crazy. Just wondering. I only have 6k miles on mine....

They have to diagnosis it for vibrations, if they do not see that then it is not covered and part of the current TSB...but if it is shuddering most likely they will find it.

It's funny because I didn't even look at the 2015's after watching a review on the 2016+. The transmission was the whole reason why I bought the damn thing. lol. I usually opt for manual but didn't want to deal with it in Tampa traffic.

They will not touch it unless it has the known shudder problem. I had mine flushed back in October and has been good so far. But the shudder did not show up until 21,000 miles. I have 29,000 miles now and I am just waiting to see if it comes back. Good luck.

Waiting to see if this latest flush is going to fix the problem. Had second flush done in October and less that 5K miles later on the way to the airport today noticed it was getting bad again..... :-( Just passed the 36 month mark so now I'm covered by the power train warranty.

I have to take it back in for the power steering bolt recall so I'll document the shudder again to make sure it's repeatable and go for number 3. If this doesn't fix it I'll be trading it in the fall for something other than a GM. This is just too serious an issue to reward GM with another purchase.

GM was supposed to announce a fix for the A8 8LE90 in the first quarter of 2019. Well the 1st quarter ends in 2 weeks and I haven't heard a peep. Has anyone heard anything or have they shutdown all attempts to fix in the wake of the pending class action?

The new "fix" is out already, just an agressive flush and fill with Mobil 1 synthetic fluid, blue label bottles. I had mine down about 2 weeks ago along with the TCM being reprogrammed again, works great, no shudder or issues, drives like a different car! We will see how long it lasts, only about 200 miles so far.

I'm taking mine in to the dealer soon ... could you share / do you know the latest TSB # that this falls under? I'm just prepping that my dealer is going to make this difficult. Thank you.

I'm also looking to get the differential groan addressed. I'm at 10.5k miles, nearly 2yrs on my 17' 2SS.

There's also a recall on the power steering. This is going to be an interesting visit along with an oil change!

I'm in Northern Virginia ... if anyone has any preferred dealerships please let me know. (I should make this a separate thread, but thank you if anyone has any info.)
