This isn't a foreign concept. Other manufacturers did it. Shelby did it with the GT350R. Porsche is NOTORIOUS for this.
Chevy is also NOTORIOUS for making production greater than demand. If you really thought the Z1LE was going to be a limited production collectable I have some oceanfront property in Kansas I'd like to sell you.

But seriously I bought the car knowing like 99% of cars it was going to be a financial loser. It is still the most performance per dollar spent up front, not necessarily the most performance for the overall cost to own.

You could go buy a brand new GT3RS, trailer it to and from the track for two years barely putting any miles on it. Then sell for close to what you paid BUT you have to be able to qualify for a 200K car loan and make the payments...

Also everyone has a different idea of what "special" is. Yours seems to be limited production which the Camaro certainly is not. Though in my area ZL1's are more rare than GT350's, Z06's, even Ferrari's. What I loved about it is it's the working mans supercar, that nobody but a car enthusiast would really acknowledge. It would go under the radar but I'd love being at a stoplight and some guys working construction in a truck next to me would tell me how much "they loved the car". Or kids walking home from school who you could tell were raised by muscle car dads and they'd beg me to spin the tires!

When you get it on track and see what it can do you can't deny it's special. Was able to pass 458's, McLaren 650S and modified Gallardos and then drive 200 miles home in comfort and style. Now if that's not special for 70K off the lot I don't know what is.

I understand the points everyone is trying to make.

I guess I drank the Kool-Aid.

While I don’t regret my purchase nor is there another car that I wish that I would have purchased instead, I don’t feel the same about the car as I once did for the exact reasons that you stated.

You want special?! - well you have the Manual. It will be rare in a few years where everyone will be dumping their Autos.

From history with other marques (Ex: E46 M3), a Manual car will be going for at least $10-$20k more than an Auto.

You know why? Enthusiasts will be longing for something analog. Same reason why old Porsches have appreciated substantially.

As for me, I picked up the best looking ZL1 1LE (with the old tail lights) and as God intended - 3 pedals.

If I recall, you had one of the first ones delivered.

Kudos for manning up amigo...I remember the whole 750 initial 18 production talk & that was kicked around here on several threads. It was clearly an estimate of demand & never promoted as any sort of limited production?? Not sure where you thought that mfg qty was concrete 411, plus GM isn't bugatti so I'm sure you understood somewhere in the back of your noggin a 'Camaro' isn't going to be marketed in any sort of limited run.

You basically own the fastest road course car for the $$$$ on the planet & yet you are going out of your way to belittle your own purchase?? Embrace what you have and thump your chest!! There is nothing out there on the road under 6 figures that can catch you...why in the hell do you have buyers remorse when you should be rejoicing.

I bought the 17 A10 50yr anniversary Camaro knowing I wasn't going to get the deals like we see on the 18's & 19's...The 17 had a small window with the late launch & there was a bunch of talk here on the forum to wait & save $$$$ on an 18. I knew what I was getting into & glad I have the 'Fifty' on my steering wheel. It is what it is.

Yeah, since I ordered it that way from day one & my plates say A10 LT4 & have the fifty on the steering wheel...pretty ****ing certain!!

Any reason you can think of where where you missed the turn and assumed I ordered a 1LE in 2017 when it wasn't available?? I think you zigged when you should have zagged. The depreciation isn't limited to the 18 1LE...us lowly 17 A10 guys took the smack as well.

As I recall the thread here is "Does anyone regret their ZL1"... not attack the man who honestly posted his opinions on his decision. TheRedhead had/has the courage to be an honest man. Perhaps some slack should be cut for his forthrightness.

"Regrets, I've had a few". Jacques Revaux and Gilles Thibault, as interpreted by Paul Anka and performed by Frank Sinatra.

A lot of money that I could have invested in my retirement...With that said, this car is magnificent!

LOL...When I read your post about your ‘17 “FIfty” I thought maybe you were referring to the SS Fifty Anniversary Edition”. Removed that post when I saw your avatar...haha, it was late, my bad!

I just sold my Zl1 after about 15 months. It was a really fun car and I enjoyed the crap out of it. In the end I needed something easier to tool around in and that I could drive in the snow. I don't regret the experience but I def regret the 15k I lost at trade in.

I've never been a Chevy nor a Camaro guy, but Chevy hit it out of the park with this one. They are not getting the credit they're due. This thing is a true super car and that in the end is why I had to get rid of it, I need a regular car.
