Should I consider this deal?

Hi!

I just found a “new” 2018 Camaro LT RS 2.0 which was already discounted for $8000. I was able to negociate another $1000. It is advertised as new but it has been driven for 520 KM, which, for me, sounds like a demo car. I cannot get more off than it already has, $9000.

Is this still a good deal? I don’t know how it was driven (maybe too agressive, too many people..., no idea).

Should I consider this deal?

Thank you!

I bought a 2017 2ss last Jan with 12000km driven by a GM territory manager. Got 30% off and never once thought about how it had been driven. You got lots of warranty so I would not worry about it.

Ignore moronic replies like that. His V-8 hopefully makes up for shortcomings in other areas.

HA!

OP: Have you asked why there are so many miles on it?

The dealership may have done a dealer trade for it from a dealership a couple hundred miles away. Cheaper to send a porter than pay for freight. We did that all the time. One time I got to go up by Mackinac island when I was a detailer (before car sales)

To answer your question about demo's and damage..... 1) I used to be a car salesman, dealers generally demo the cars for 5000 miles, and it is increasingly rare (at least around here) that they give demo's to salesman nowadays anyway. The dealership loses too much money. 2) I highly doubt that in that amount of miles any damage could have been done regardless of driving from the customers. Generally speaking the customers are with a salesman, and even if they weren't, they don't just go around beating the hell out of the car for an hour. They test the ride, the sound system, look at the features, in addition to testing acceleration. At least that was my experience being a salesman.

And like others said, the factory bumper to bumper warranty and powertrain warranties will start only after someone buys it. If you like the car, I would buy it. Probably won't find a better deal than that.

Thank you RyanR623, this makes me much more comfortable. I usually am a bit paranoid by default because I had some issues with previous dealers; they were trying to sell me a defective car (CPO) that was clean on paper, but won't let me test it until I buy it... and other stories like that

Yeah my CPO Camaro passed all the tests! Yeeettttt somehow they didn't catch the A8 shudder, imagine that. I test drove it, but the shudder was so slight I didn't know if it was the shudder or not so I said screw it, and bought it. My shudder is barely noticeable, and doesn't bother me.... but I am still getting the new fluid. Oh, I mean i'm getting the new fluid when their machine is fixed

Anyway, if you like it buy it. You'll have fun with it and regardless of what happens over the next 3 years you'll be covered from bumper to bumper.

EDIT: I haven't been a car salesman for nearly 10 years, so don't hate me.
