I agree with 7WSM on the sunroof aspect, in person, IMO it doesn't fit the design and looks undesirable/outdated to me. I defiantly contemplated adding it, I missed having one.

If I were you, I’d go with hard roof as I’m 6’ and basically have to crouch with my helmet on at the track. Easily lose 1.5-2” of head room with sunroof.....

I also skipped the CF hood insert. Is our black on the insert, front splitter, and side skirts black metallic or mosaic black metallic? I have wondered this.

Mine has the CF insert and no sunroof. I wouldn’t have bought one that had one either! Agree MLee that sunroofs don’t belong on performance cars!

So things went a little differently than expected.
Ended up with a 19 loaded. Only thing it doesn't have is the carbon fiber on the dash. Had a local dealer offer me a pretty good price on my trade and priced the ZL1 pretty much the same a most others near me so I went with it. It's blue and tho I wasn't looking to get blue it looks pretty dang good I think. I still prefer the Admiral Blue that was on my C7 GS but it's still a nice shade of blue. I also fit pretty well with the sunroof especially with the seat all the way down. If I had of ordered one tho I probably would of skipped the sunroof but it's ok. The upgraded infotainment/nav is a plus and the rear view camera is pretty helpful. I'm super stoked and can't wait to get around 500 miles on it so I can change the oil and see what it can do. Time to start a mod list now! |

Other than some head room there is nothing wrong with a sunroof it's nice to have every once in a while and your going to find a 18s with a sunroof and carbon 10k cheaper than ordering a 19 anyway you want. Plenty of 18s saling at 54k to 56k brand new most have sunroofs.. if you order something it's going to be about 64k to 71k. Plus they were doing 0% for 72 on 18s if not a good credit union will get 2.89 maybe better. So now your talking more than 10k savings which is what I would be about since these cars are never are worth half of what you paid new when you go to sell them after you driven them for a while. Saving over 10k for a new gm color, a rear camera, square tail lights, and new lines on the rear bumper to me isn't worth it. If you got the money and don't care about losing more money more power to ya! To me 800 month payment vs 11 and 1200 and maybe settling for a sunroof and installed carbon losing the 1le pkg was the way to go. Here's my example of settling My good friend and I ordered Zl1 1le's at the same time together at the same dealer I gave him the earlier production date(I did the legwork to see who had allocations) Both cars were 73,985 plus or minus 100 actually mine was 3 or 400 more for yellow paint.. I took the 2 month later allocation. His came in 1st, he let me see his whole deal our credit was 10 points apart my 727 his 737. He is paying a little over 1200 and his out the door was 75k or more tad more , My car came in 2 months later as promised, they had just called and told me it came in but, I got the bug and found a car the same color but not a 1le with a roof.. It was literally the last 17 of that color I searched everywhere over 100 dealers. I really wanted the 1le and didn't really want a sunroof mainly because all the haters and a little more helmet room, I got a MSRP 70k car for out the door for 60k and settled taking the roof. I lost the the 1le pkg but gained the not so wanted roof.. 400 dollars a month lower was worth it to me. I really wanted the 1le just for the aero kit and 19s. So I added the aero I got lucky my deal included 750 parts credit so i got all the aero kit for 2500.00 including the wing.. heck you cant even get a wing less than 3800 hardly now.. If a higher payment would put stress on ya or cut your life style down I would just settle for what's being sold dirt cheap on the lot that's available. A good wrap will take of the color preference, a rear camera is probably available from gen 5 dyi, and the tail lights that's another topic..
