I'm looking to do the same thing when my tires go out. Did the fender gap shrink a little bit? Thanks in advance |

Sure, here you are. Pardon the quality, I'm no photographer and didn't have a good enough shot with the garage full. The gap did shrink a bit, although not much, less than a quarter of an inch. Overall dimensions are close, but the sidewall profile is completely different, more "angular" that looks much better, and the compound is softer as well. No appreciable stance from such a small change, it was not my goal anyway.

I opened the garage door and looked at it and felt sad that I never drive it anymore.

I saw Lethal Garage's YT video about using your stock tail lights as garage decoration and really liked the idea. But I really didn't like the idea that the wiring harness to do it is $42, so I made one up myself for about $12 in materials.
![]() Now I need to figure out where to put them... I'll think of something. *** I've received a few PMs asking me what parts are needed and how to wire the lights. I'll take some pics and write up a guide in the DIY & How-To subforum so all can partake *** Last edited by TenSeven; 03-16-2019 at 09:23 PM. Reason: Updated Info |

No special connectors needed, I just slightly modded the the female side of some common electrical spade connectors by opening them up a little to slide on to the terminals in the stock tail light plugs.
The only thing that was "difficult" was figuring out what terminals in the factory plug I needed to connect the positive and negative wires to. That was just a process of elimination. For power I used a 12 volt adapter that I had in my stash that I had bought a while ago from Amazon for $10. |

Finally got to doing the 2019 nav map update. The instructions say it's a 50-minute process and warn against trying to do it in accessory mode, so I pulled the car out into the rain to get a free touchless rinse while updating the map.
In the end it took exactly 49 minutes, but spent about 15 minutes at 99% progress, reminiscent of those "good old" MSFT progress bars, heh.

Gave it a bath when I started it was snowing for 5 minutes thank god the sun came out halfway through. My hands were freezing 38 degrees out. Was switching hands one with a glove on one with it off my wash hand. Then went to the car wash and vacuumed it out. Now to go out and wipe down the inside which isn’t to bad.

Final touches on the interior, added the CF dash insert to the previously installed footwell lighting, embroidered console lid, ZL1 start button, red knee pads and red Corvette paddle shifters. I also use a CF+perforated leather steering wheel cover to make it a bit girthier and save the factory leather.
I think this is the way she will remain for a long time. Still what a joy to sit in and drive every single time.

Wiped dust off the hood and noticed 1st hood chip, about 2/3rd down hood on inside side of driver section. Grr. Will be a bear to touch up but I'm up to the challenge.

As I am painting my wheels / rims I put the car on self made wheel hub stands. Everybody knows that you shouldn’t leave the springs uncompressed for a long time. Sooo here they are.
